ok call of duty was nice, still is nice kinda. but its getting to be a bit much. they come out with a new game EVERY year it seems, and its getting kind of old. the whole FPS fad thats been happening lateley is getting out of control. i say we boycot call of duty so they can actually take time to make a good game and not just fire them out of there ***** every 6 months. cause honestly they are making way to much money for what they are producing
Possibly, can you please elaborate one what that means, exactly, acbdaa? Unless of course it means the people who talk about it most are the ones who hate it most. In which case I seriously disagree :P
But also
Nobody talks so constantly about God as those who insist that there is no God
Yeah, because religious people talk TO their God, meanwhilst we actually question it with evidence, proof and logic. Also, we only talk as much as the need arises, usually. I usually only ever find we further our knowledge, instead of attempting to remove some (in my honest opinion) bad knowledge.
Live and let live, but Fanatics kill, and that's a shame (For the record, I do not know anyone who has killed in the name of science, know of, know, w/e, I don't know any such thing happening, if you do, please tell )
Highfire: Possibly, can you please elaborate one what that means, exactly, acbdaa?
SupaLegit: Highfire, you always wow me... I don't know your words are just so.. powerful and meaningful for some reason.
OMG you're kidding me :P
OK. There are two distinct things you must look out for: 1) Your meaning 2) Use of words to transfer that meaning (eg your grammar and vocab). @SupaLegit, you were obviously being either sarcastic at Highfire's lack of #2 (not that that's a bad thing... In this international world, you're not obliged to have great prowess over the English language) or you really meant it...
However, @Highfire... I don't think you have much of #1. Content. Meaning. You are being really picky and analysing the language of my statements, not their meaning. Funny thing is you've even ridiculed a very famous quote... yes, you haven't got my meaning. You seem to have gone all excessively TOK. (At least, that's what the inner IB student in me would call it - google it if you wanna know more). Don't let your brains fall out. The God statement was simply a funny quote, just drawing attention to how ironic it is that non-believers can often outdo believers in their passion on the subject. Don't insult the quote, it's well-known. The flaws in it are also as well-known as its face-value meaning, and infact I really assumed this was general knowledge. BUT to get back to the whole point of this thread...
The cod statement was a random bit of not-really-relevant wordplay which I just thought up randomly from nowhere (Cod is a type of fish, staple for the UK until its current-day near-extinction, I trust the metaphor did not escape your notice). I didn't really intend it to mean much thus try not to kill a comment which was meant to be more of a joke... A mere allusion to a famous quote, rather than a salient point. If there was a point to it, though, it would be that some haters, from such widely polar opposite fields ranging from religion to gamers, can, at times, be more passionate than supporters.
In other words...(Drumroll for conclusion after excessively long overkill reply)....
I did nothing but state the obvious in a vaguely half-thought out colourful way, anticipating no over-analysis of my unworthy-of-analysis comments. I am going to shut up now. :P
Also, to complete the overkill, I just wanted to make a side comment:
Yeah, because religious people talk TO their God, meanwhilst we actually question it with evidence, proof and logic. Also, we only talk as much as the need arises, usually. I usually only ever find we further our knowledge, instead of attempting to remove some (in my honest opinion) bad knowledge.
Your use of the word 'we' implies that you assume everyone either shares your opinions above or is stupid. (Or you're speaking the Queen's English, of which the word "I" is not part of. :P)
It would be great if you don't try to snidely force these opinions onto others. I'm willing to bet that they're a bunch of believers on this thread, and a bunch of people who usually enjoy talking much more or less than needs demand.
etc.
You get my point... You're entitled to your opinion, but disrespect not those of others... Democracy is the generally agreed-upon international consensus here, is it not?
Well, "Wow" was for the big long thing that I felt lacked "spice" you could say..? I caught on to your cod statement as i read it. Cod and small fish is when it clicked (being a smart person I can catch onto meaning and its alternate possible references).
Live and let live, but Fanatics kill, and that's a shame
Is the meaningful part, maybe not powerful but yeah. I hope I don't have to go on with it being meaningful... :P
Funny thing is you've even ridiculed a very famous quote... yes, you haven't got my meaning.
No I stated how I interpreted it and then said how I felt about it
The God statement was simply a funny quote, just drawing attention to how ironic it is that non-believers can often outdo believers in their passion on the subject.
I know but often, and I could imagine as someone who doesn't like CoD may be able to agree with me - most people (especially IRL) take influence from pretty much ANYTHING possible. Something essentially unrelated - like the quote could've had an impact, I'm just saying.
(Cod is a type of fish, staple for the UK until its current-day near-extinction, I trust the metaphor did not escape your notice).
Oops. :P In my defense, I don't eat fish. LOL
it would be that some haters, from such widely polar opposite fields ranging from religion to gamers, can, at times, be more passionate than supporters.
That is shown much, much more on the Internet since we actually persist and give reason whereas if you look at something like "The greatest video game villain of all time?" you'll see any CoD fans give "Makarov" etc, just one word answers, where in the same thread you'll see "I reckon **** is best because **** **** **** ****, it's just so **** *** *** ***". Right? Am I the only one who's seen it? (Doesn't just apply to CoD fans, but I find it most often does).
Your use of the word 'we' implies that you assume everyone either shares your opinions above or is stupid.
I know people do, that sounds harsh but I actually do. Maybe not accurately, but essentially we (<-- I need to avoid using that word) have the same goal :P
It would be great if you don't try to snidely force these opinions onto others.
In no way could I or would I force my opinions on someone, yes, I elaborate them and put them how I feel - but it goes without saying that if I don't watch my tongue then what it says will at least be slightly biased. Which is definitely not the case because I was obviously biased in the last post.
You get my point... You're entitled to your opinion, but disrespect not those of others
I'll try not to.
Democracy is the generally agreed-upon international consensus here, is it not?
Call Of Duty manages to send up a new game in a very short time, because they work with two teams... That way, while one is selling its newly produced game, the other one is making another one. It is time saving and, as every one knows, money making.
We can see it through the games : The latest ones came out in this order : - Modern Warfare - World at War - Modern Warfare 2 - Black Ops World at war and black ops have the Zombie Nazi game mode and the two modern warfares have Gun customizing ability (and other stuffs...)
Sending a new COD every year does not affect the quality of the game (even though I prefer World at War and Black Ops...)
HEY, IF YOU THINK THE GAMES ARE BAD.. THEN WHY DO SOO MANY PEOPLE PLAY THEM??? REALLY? THE GAMES ARE GREAT AND ADDICTING I SAY THAT THEY HAVE JUST DONE A GOOD JOB
Because They like them. That was an obvious question. Many people like them we all know that. However Some of us don't. We are entitled to our own opinion, no? Example: some of us think that their quality is bad. Other people think they are great. It has been like that and it won't change.
I truly think the games are fine... They come up with something new and different every time they make a new one and there is something eye catching that makes you want to play. We should actually applaud them because they have something good going and with them creating Call of Duty games between two teams because they give us what we want as quick as possible! And god knows we all just want a FPS with good visuals, story, and crazy online play...
