I know this thread has probably been made a Brazilian times, but hear me out. This one asks a more specific question:

Is the life sentence without parole worse than the death sentence? I am not asking if you think it is legal, but if it is worse to rot in prison or to die without pain?

So prison is worse than death? Than why have the death penalty if people prefer it over prison?

Because when you sit and rot in prison, taxpayers are keeping you alive... killing you is cheaper... makes sense to me

Mostly complaints of the death sentence being immoral.

For all it costs to keep someone in prison for life, killing them is more expensive(at least in the US).

So...you murder some people because you're insane. Probably you'll never even think it's wrong, only that you don't like being imprisoned.

I don't see how the death penalty is immoral. You intentionally harmed and killed people, generally more than just one or two, so, quite simply, why waste money keeping them alive when you can just quickly get rid of them. They offer absolutely nothing to the world, will harm anyone they can, and just in general are dispicable.

It's not the punishment that costs the most, it's the trial of a capital crime that costs so much. Though even if the defendant is given a life sentence over the death penalty, capital crimes still cost hundreds of thousands to try.

Cost of the lethal cocktail: about $83.

Anyways, the death penalty is fine in my eyes. They do the crime, the do the time. Generally this means a little jail time, not a one way ticket to hell, but the principle is the same.

If they want the death penalty they have to go through a longer trial, which costs millions more than if they want life in prison.

I think the captail punishment should only be used to extreme cases such as man rapes child then murders child. Thos sort of people are not worthy of life. But the cost of having a inmate in your life is a huge tax and thats just one inmate. I would like to see my rehab programs supported by private companys rather then goverment fundings

I actually agree, I never said that was my opinion, I just said that some people think it's immoral.

No one deserves to suffer. Killing a murderer is immoral for the same reasons his crimes were immoral: It's hurting someone for no good reason.

I think its pointless to kill them, it costs money and leaves them useless to society. Just make them work in prison half there money goes to there victims half to the goverment. Everyone wins.

Not really. There is an incredibly low wage for prisoners working in prison, as it should be, and the cost to keep them alive in prison heavily outweighs how much the prisoner would earn from working. If a person is in jail for a long time (such as life), it would probably be better just to kill him/her.

They do if they intentionally cause others to suffer, and generally it's a lot worse than a split second zap.

Killing a murderer is immoral for the same reasons his crimes were immoral

I do not see it this way. The murderer had the choice whether or not to kill that person/group of people, and yet they did. What's the argument AGAINST the death penalty other than immorality? As far as i'm concerned being held in prison for the rest of your life is worse than being killed in a humane way.

the current method is too inefficient

Yeah, obviously it is if it costs more to just try someone than to provide food, water, pay for the guards, upkeep for the prison, etc, for the rest of their lives.

That would work for some people, but for those who are truly psychopathic, it'd be much easier to just get rid of them.

To me life in prison would be unbearable, I would rather die rather than face the thought of never seeing the outside world. And in all honesty there is no need for a 'lethal injection'. A bullet is just as lethal and painless, and costs a hell of a lot less. And honestly the man's going to die one way or the other, why not just finish it now and save everyone some money.
