Now I've been seeing a lot of negativity about the greatest country on earth, home of doughboys and applepies and moms and the City that Never Sleeps, and why is that? C'mon, can't the haters stop hating, and we all just love the USA? Lets just look at who could be around today, controlling the world, if it wasn't for America.

From what I know of America, Americans grow up being told that theyâre country is âthe bestâ wether they heard it literally/directly or not. Also, it seems to me that things like patriotism and respect for the government are baically screwed up. If more money for schoolâs was put in for funding world history and geography classes, things may be more decent.

Iâm not sure if people still use the expression âthe land of the free and the home of the braveâ over there, but it is bull**** in my opinion. There is a boss and an owner or a governer for everything in your country. True freedom is anarchy. (Not that anarchy is good).

Not everyone hates Americans. Some countries love America way more than it deserves.

Two ways to improve America's education would be to teach kids to think critically, and not to use TV, food and the media to get in the way of education.

The OP is a classic example of someone who has been spoon fed that America is the greatest country in the world. Ridiculous. And i'm in a bad mood today.

Thatâs all I have to say really.

PS I know America has many great things and people, but someone has to point out the bad things once in a while.

True. Theres no such thing as a perfect country. Weve done some bad things, such as slavery, indian removal, etc

Oh! yes, yes one sided arguments and some pictures make an good point.

For all you know 9/11 could of be caused by your own government for profit.

This is just an insult to the innocent blood America has spilt and the soldiers who died to protect the freedoms of American's that now are being abused by corporations with individuals who make more in one day than 100 diligent workers make in a month.

America is no worse or better than any other developed country.

Biased opinion is biased.

If god did exist (which he doesn't) why would he target one nation over others that don't even have enough money to feed their kids.

First, I disagree with putting Gorbachev in the dictator's list.
Second, did you know that the USA have the least amount of social mobility of the developed countries, except for UK that is even worse? Whoa, the land of freedom.
And wikileaks should teach you something about the "greatness" of america's foreign politics.

My country completely lack it. We need a bit more. The funny thing is that our politicians aren't even interested, the first party couldn't care less since its leader is Silvio Berlusconi, and the second dislike Italy and is trying to create some &quotatriotic BS" just for the northern part of it. Obviously, they don't want secession because they don't want to lose the money the Italian state pay them... shrug. I wonder what people from other countries (not america... Lol) think about our politics.

Well, not really. There are some countries, mainly in northern Europe, that are beating America in quite everything, except for xenophobia and army power.
