I do not know if this Topic has already came about, but, just in case it hasn't...
Anything Religious?
-Have a question? Ill try to explian it to the best of my ability! -Have a debate? Ill be glad to converse with you! -Have anything you wanna talk about? Just come on down!
Well, this is primiarly a reason why I am doing this. I would like to help inform, but be inform. So I may not have a large knowledge in Baptist, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to learn!
To answer your question, as almost any average person, I know primiarly about Christianity or Catholicism. I do have a descent knowledge of Eastern Orthodox.
This was something I have quoted from another forum, but it may help give this thread a bit of direction.
If God created us perfect, how could we have possibly sinned? If God intended to create us perfectly, but failed, how is he perfect? If God intended to create us imperfectly, how is it our fault for sinning?
If God created us perfect, how could we have possibly sinned
We as humans believe that God created us perfectly.. and in reality, he did. God gave us free will and intelligence. With the being understood, we can then come to the conclusion that God is perfect for giving us the option or opportunity to believe in him, hence free will and intelligence.
Hopefully that gives you a bit understanding of it. The sum of it all is that he did create us perfectly. Its us as humans, that have the option to sin.. because of his doing.
1. Never post anything regarding your religion because you are bound to get crucified, unless you are 100% prepared, and nobody ever is 100% prepared.
2. Never argue against Libertarianism unless you are 100% sure that you can win.
3. Never be open about your political beliefs entirely, because you are bound be get hit by a wall of text concerning it, and every single sentence you make, will be held under a magnifying glass.
I would recommend you give up on this thread because you will be murdered by words.

The argument of free will doesn't answer the question in the least. Since as perfect beings even with free will, we would still make perfect choices. If as the Bible says we made a bad choice and sinned, then we couldn't have been perfect to begin with. This means that either God made us imperfect, either intentionally or not. If not, then God is not perfect himself as he made a mistake.
But thats all about free will. God GAVE us free will so we could have freedom to decided. The answer IS free will.
Just because we are free to do something doesn't mean we would. As a perfect being even if we were free to choice to sin, we would choice not to, as noting doing so would mean we were not perfect.
Im a little confused by what you say but, Ill try to have a close to matching response.
How is it confusing? If we were perfect then the choices we make would also have to be perfect choices, even if we were capable of choosing otherwise we wouldn't. Making a choice that was anything but perfect would mean we were not perfect.
If we were perfect then the choices we make would also have to be perfect choices, even if we were capable of choosing otherwise we wouldn't
Not necessarily.. and that is why we are perfect! Its sorta like a paradox but we are perfect because we can choice to do wrong. In todays society, perfect means to be, well, perfect. No mistakes, good grades. But in the eyes of God, perfect is just doing HIS will, and even if you do sin, or make a bad choice, you have the opportunity to come back to God.
Bottom line is the gifts of free will and intelligence that God gave us. That is the answer to all of this. By giving us these things, God made us perfect. And that means that God is perfect.
Sins are concidered bad.. 'good' people don't sin. Sins are imperfect; sinners are imperfect. 'Good' people are closer to being perfect than sinners, because if you are perfect, you will behave perfectly and not sin, whether you have the choice or not. Free will is about choice; being perfect or not is about acting. If we were all perfect, we would not sin. Are there sinners? Following christian definition: yes there are, quite a lot. Ergo we can't be perfect, or at least not all.
