I have just copyrighted an idea for invention convention ( like a science fair where you have to invent a product). My idea is an automatic zipper. I have all the technology worked out and I just need to know if anyone would actually buy it and what price would be a good idea.

I wouldn't dare to. I imagine it could lead to some pretty nasty situations for someone who's clumsy, like me.

Automatic zippers? Is it so difficult to zip something up yourself?

No, I wouldn't invest or get this. I would most likely hurt myself with this.

I would buy it for $1. But what would it be used for?

An automatic zipper just wouldn't work for me.
I've experienced several accidents with non automatic zippers.
But, good luck with your idea, maybe some people will like it.

I'll pass.

I can just see it not working.

Also I can easily zip up myself in a few seconds.

Why would I need a machine to do it for me?

This here.
And I might be lazy, but not that lazy.
Otherwise you should possibly specify exactly what these autozippers are supposed to zip besides zippers.

I have one question,
How does it automatically zip up and down?

How do you automatically zip the zippers without causing an impediment to one's movement? I'd appreciate knowing.

Are we talking like Pants zippers only or things like Backpacks, coats, etc?

Honestly no, it's virtually effortless to zip it yourself, unless you're in a very cold and snowy climate, when you're wearing gloves or your fingers are numb.

i think my group members would kill me if I shared how it works. All I can say is you push a button and the zipper zips itself up. It will not get stuck, and it will not hinder movement.

Also, the zipper can be attached to anything, therefore it zips up whatever you want. The button is on a keyring and you just hold it down to zip up. (we're also working on sensors, but I don't think they'll work). And this invention faces the problem of having to reach over into uncomfortable positions to zip things up, and getting zippers stuck.
p.s. can anybody think of a catchy slogan?????

If it was a backpack zipper I would buy it. A pants zipper would guarantee I couldn't have kids. =P
