Since we have a LOT of duplicate threads on Armatars, I'm creating this sticky post where users can discuss ideas about armatars.
We've stated several times that Dan is in charge of armatars at the moment, and that if you want new armatars to go let him know. We have several new ideas for armatars on AG3 that we'll discuss in this thread as we work on it.
For starters, we ARE going to allow custom armatars at some point. I'm not sure if it'll be there when AG3 launches, but it's a priority. We'll have strict requirements, probably something like being a member for more than 6 months, and have a certain number of points/achievements or a reputation level of a certain rank or something. The specifics are still being worked out. One idea is that at one level (points/achievements/reputation), you could upload an armatar that only you could use. At another level, you could unlock it for your friends to use. At another level, your followers, and at the highest level, make it available for anyone on the site. We've also discussed the idea of letting our most artistic users create entire *sets* of armatars for the site.
In AG3, all users will have a unique URL for their armatar, which they can use on other sites if they choose. We'll have a link on your dashboard that will show you what the URL is or how to download a high-quality version of the image.
All armatar uploads will be heavily scrutinized by human eyes before they go live on the site. Users who abuse the system by uploading an image against our Terms and Conditions and other rules and guidelines about images will be permanently banned from the site.

As I've already stated, if we think it's your own artwork, then it's probably going to be okay, but we still have to look at EVERY image that gets uploaded to make sure it's appropriate for the site, etc.
Why dont some one make a customization place just for armatars.Next to the submit button at the top of the screen.You can upload backgrounds or use the default ones.As well as characters on top of the background.Make it to where you can put your username.I wish that the armatars were a little bigger than they are now so you can see the actual details.Make it to where its compatible with photobucket or photoshop.And make a place where you can save all your previous armatars;and maybe make it to where you can send,trade,or sell for ap.this is just an idea i dont know if anyone ever thought about this.I didnt read all the comments.Hopefully this will be in the update
I'd prefer a collapsible list to the current pop-up windows, because you don't get to compare multiple armatars as you'd have to close and open and reload sets of armatars you might want to choose or copy the image and paste it somewhere else and it's a bit bothersome to have to navigate so many windows.
I'd like to see a feature that allows you to 'save' armatars. I have a seasonal armatar, and as I unlock new armatars, I'd like to change it. However, I don't want to lose my armatar, because I'm the only person on the forums who has it.
The only real purpose to this would be so that people can keep a few seasonal armatars, but It'd still be nice to use and to have access to.

Such a saving feature would only be useful for seasonal armatars, and very few users have seasonal armatars.
Since we may unlock certain armatars when an achievement is given, we'll always make those armatars available to anyone wih that achievement. However, since seasonal armatars are exactly that - seasonal - it's doubtful we'd let you pick them during an off-season period, even out of some saved locker of armatars.
I became member in January of this year so I missed the Holiday ones. When do these comes anyway? Are there some for Christmas and Halloween only? What about summer? I hope AG will have more ginger bread ones. The one with a bite off his head is hilarious (is name is Gingy isn't it?).
