It'd be interesting though, if they could talk (Intelligibly, conversation/thought) then what would religion make of that? Would they have souls too? There would also be many applications, spy birds, rescue dolphins...

If animals could be able to talk, Animal Farm would happen. Animals would somehow get smarter than us and overthrow us for being the only animal that does eats and does not produce. Then they would chase us out and rule their own kingdom and thrive. They then would get powerhungry and be unfair to eachother. Then they will destroy themselves eventually.

Animal crossing wild world would happen.

Also we will finaly find out what came first the chicken or the egg LOL

If animals could talk, then their anatomy would have to change completely.
