The question is simple. Should Israel exist. I know that this subject is very controversial so I am setting some "ground rules." 1. Because Israel is so tied into Judaism, NO ANTI-SEMETIC COMMENTS 2. Please back up your reasoning with facts 3. Respect other's opinions. I cannot tell you how many times I have been on CNN and seen people flinging mud at each other. BE RESPECTFUL!
I am looking forward to seeing the posts and logic behind the opinions.
I have to take the side of Chicken here master. There was an article written by Times magasine I think two years ago. It described a family of palestinians being shot maliciously by IDF troops. However, I would stress that these troops are in the minority, and that most of the troops abided by International Law during the invasion of the Gaza Strip.

Well if we are going to point things like this out, I heard that the Palestinians purposely place their civilians in the way to force Israel to have a hard time getting by without killing them. Basically using their civilians as human shields.
Since the six day war was years after Israel's creation, and it's obvious that Israel was a shining star in that war seeing as it had 30 years to develop, starting with an educated European populace that had the best connection to the Mediterranean in comparison to the rest of the Middle East.
Also, It's extremely funny you should say that, because, without Western support, Israel was set to be doomed in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, except, for some insane reason, the entire West thought it would be funny to help them out. What's even funnier, is that this shining symbol of Humanity had, somehow, acquired tactical atomic weapons, that, without western support, was nearly ready to use. And what makes it ironically hilarious is that today we notice Israeli leaders telling American presidents to back off.
and that most of the troops abided by International Law during the invasion of the Gaza Strip.
But the invasion itself, not politically, but justified on a humanitarian level? I don't see how land-locking the entire Palestinian population is a good way to tell Hamas to back off. The more people they displace, the more Hamas will grow. Is Hamas really the problem? Assuming they kill all of Hamas, then another thing like it will happen.
if israel shoul exist than america should be given back red indians chechniya ti chechen muslims kashmir to kashmiris taymoor to indonesia spain to muslims if u dont agree to this than this means your judgement is perverted

Or it means that Israel exists NOW and has therefore a right to exist. You can't take away a country's right to exist.
i think possibly the way the discussion has gone, we need a title change, i mean i havent seen anyone dispute israels right to exist NOW, it was a mistake to make it, but nothingg can be done about that now
and yes i am aware that hamas uses civillians as human shields, but from everything ive ever read israel doesnt seem to care regardless, there are numerous stories about civillians being gunned down when there was in fact little to no militanta presence any where near the area

You can post a request on a mod's profile asking for a thread change but don't because 1) You didn't make the thread so they won't listen 2) It's unneeded

And yet you still haven't linked a single article. You keep saying this throughout this thread but I don't think you have shown anything to back it up.
its nearly midnight where i am and i am about to go to sleep, now is really not the time to trawl through google, however (you can and most likely will hold me to this)i will find you some links tommorow after school
as for the title change i wasnt suggesting i was going to do it as its not really amajor problem, its just the way the discussion is going it seems as if it may become useful

Well good luck with that, I couldn't find any articles.
Well, I could propose another question. Why are there 300,000 Israelis living in the west Bank? The West Bank is a territory that they have occupied with military presence since the 70's, and the same is with the Golan Heights. I wouldn't be surprised if, in the future, they tried to expand further.

That will not happen. The main focus of the debate is still if Israel should exist, but we have simply divulged a bit deeper into the contents and history of its existence. Plus I like the title just the way it is.
