im an athiest and never understood why if god forgives everyone then why dose he send people to hell
This is a very regular question. What is that yes, God sent his son Jesus Christ to go on the cross and die, So, that people can see that even though people were sinners God still loved us. Now, just because we were forgiven it doesn't mean we get a ticket to heaven you need to accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. It says that Jesus knock at the door of your heart but, you must open. So, him being on the cross that was him knocking and it is you who must open your heart to him because he wants a kingdom of children who believes him rather than a kingdom of people who didn't believe in him and when they him say "Oh, look at that you were real, guess I was wrong.". Does this answer you question?
Hell sounds like a nice place if God isn't there. I think I could put up with a little heat and torture to get away from a deity of such a malevolent nature.
well to answer the OP God is all forgiving, however you have to ask for that forgiveness, oh wait, no but not if your a rapist, or if you kill anyone, oh no wait you are alowed to kill people, like when the pope tells you to, or you can kill gays, like it tells you to in the bible
all very confusing
Some people refuse accepting God, and are left alone. These form Hell.
I thought you were a catholic, thats certainly not the Christian idea of hell

Well, the souls that ultimately reject God at their death hour or before through grave sins, are rejected by God and are left alone, and suffer. That's primary quality of Hell, a soul in Hell suffers from its own rejection of God and the absense of God near it. The Catechism states that "to die in a grave sin, without repenting and accepting God's gracious love, means to leave without God's love for ever by the sinner's own choice. This condition of terminal self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is named Hell." (translated from Russian)
you make it sound like aholiiday camp for the ****ed, people dont meet up in hell sit round drinking coffee and go oh dang i wish i has accepted god, well this really sucks, they are burnt and horrificly tortured for all eternity

This is very true I was kind of thinking the same thing like really? you don't take breaks from torture lol but, you don't necessarily get burned and torture you the bible says "the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy" So, you are going to be stolen from everything you hold dear, kill all your dreams and destroy everything you have. I know it sounds bad but, keep in mind what vesperbot says it is also, true a life without God is already hell whether you realize it or not.

I personally haven't noticed any difference, except that I now have my Sunday mornings back
and again this is why i cannot be friends with christians, how could i be friends with someone that thinks its agreat idea that im gonna be burned and tortured even though i try to be a good person just because i find it hard to believe ina deity that wont show himself
Yes, but, if god is all forgiving, and omnipotent, nothing would stop him from helping people after they died to know the truth, and thus be accepted into Heaven. If he can't, he's not omnipotent, which puts into suspect a LOT of religious teachings, or he won't, which means he's not all forgiving, which would put even MORE religious teachings into suspect.
Actually "I hit you because I love you" shows obvious disapproval, and influences whether or not you will do it again. Going to Hell is apparently irreversible, however. So yep - God is a merciless noob :P
