faith:
[feyth]
â"noun
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.
3. belief in god or in the doctrines or teachings of religion: the firm faith of the Pilgrims.

From Dictionary.com

In other words, the baseline of religion is faith, and faith is something that has absolutely no proof.

Just to be a devils advocate number 3 doesn't say anything about not being based on proof. I do, however, see the point you make with this post.

But I'm obviously not accepting proof from something i don't believe in.

Considering hell is a NT concept I think the NT is quite relevant to this topic.
Also keep in mind the irony of this statement being this 'roof' was given to you by an atheist.

But what i was saying is I'm not arguing it.

Proof was never the right word, I asked for the quote saying that god is all forgiving.

Oops. Looks like I'm gonna rot in hell then.

All it is ,is a scare tactic to control people who have been indoctrinated.

Yeah, I agree. I wonder who the masterminds behind the whole Christianity thing were.

For what? Being atheist? No you won't. At least I don't belive you will. I have a question, do most christians people belive you will go to hell for not being christian? Because I have a friend who belives that.

Well there's always spreading the word of God and our morals/values.

The reason I ask is because most of the Christians I've meet have been taught that way. So no offence but could I get a statistic. I think it may vary based on where you live.

"anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."

How many atheists do you know that haven't done this at some point?

I've met others who believe like diar5, it's more common in the more moderate groups.

Oh, well then I guess that's the reason. I suppose moderate groups are more umm... understanding? Not sure if that's a good word for it.

Try, "Less fanatical" understanding isn't really the word, as i'm sure the fanatics understand what their "enemies" believe, they just believe it's their duty to fight against those "sins." Whereas you believe they are still sins (I think) but do not actively fight against them.

Well not exactly. I was taught that I was right in beliving in God, and Christianity but it's perfectly fine that there are people who don't. God doesn't judge you based on that. It really wouldn't be fair considering how people are raised.

Because atheists are smart enough to answer.
