Before we get into this, someone quote where it says that God is all forgiving.
All but one sin is forgivable.
Matthew 12:30-32 (NIV) "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Mark 3:28-30 (NIV) I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." He said this because they were saying, "He has an evil spirit."
Well it is part of the argument, I mean, put Hell aside, is God real? Scientific theories state contradictory idealogy that is backed up by evidence and proof - Religion relies on faith. Which is the better?
Chances are the scientific path is true, but it is still undetermined.

We'll only existing for a few decades, possibly or possibly not accomplishing anything, only to be followed by death in which everything you do in your life will at best only have people remember your name and maybe benefit, and you are completely gone forever, sounds like a form of hell to me. It just makes life not feel worth living. But your argument can be said about any religious thread, so instead of them all being the same thing everywhere, lets argue the specific topic the thread was created for.
1) God is all loving and all forgiving, and there actually is no hell, it was just a scare tactic invented by the church to gain followers
2) There is no god, heaven, hell, or afterlife
3) God is all loving but not all powerful, and for some reason you have to do something on your end for him to be able to help you
4) God is not all loving but is all powerful, and only accepts you if you praise him endlessly like an egotistic maniac
5) God is not all loving or all powerful, who only cares about his followers and also requires them to act in certain ways for him to be able to bring them to heaven.
6) There is an all loving and all powerful god, but there is no afterlife/hell
7) No religion as of yet has the right answer, but there is a god
Those are all the possible outcomes I can think of at this time...assuming of course that there is a god. If there isn't that only leaves #2

Proof vs Faith Proof means something is real, materialistic, end of story. With faith people can reach an almost fervid level where everything that goes against their belief is wrong. Neither is really better. Proof is good because it's fact but with faith you can bring people together and I've seen how it can affect people. Both are powerful things. There are definitely many differences but it really depends on what a person is looking for to tell which is better.
