Lol! The title sounds like a bad joke >.>

Well, my dad is a pilot, and I fly a lot, so i'm pretty biased but...if you don't want the chance of being blown up, put up with the security. Which isn't really that bad, so long as you don't set off the sensor/pack stuff that looks suspicious. It's only when it gets set off/they find something they can't identify in your luggage that it takes time, as they can't just rule out that you're not a terrorist based on how you look.

Yeah well, it's not all that hard to destroy a plane from the inside with a bomb, so...when you have a religious faction that wants to do this as much as possible, it kinda makes you suspicious to see anyone of the main ethnicity of that religion...Best answer: Don't be apart of a religion that has that in it...which is pretty much all of them.

The high security at airports in my opinion is highly necessary. I also travel a lot, i fly at least twice a month and have done for a good few years and i've noticed the difference in security within airports and the only thought i have towards it is "Why the heck wasn't this in place beforehand?" If security had of been tight, many terrorism activities wouldn't of been able to occur. On the flip side, it still can.

I don't think relgion should have anything to do with it.

Don't be apart of a religion that has that in it...which is pretty much all of them.

In ireland, our terrorism act is constantly dealing with people involved in organisations, not religion.
I believe that to be the same worldwide, religion is simply the commonality, not basis.

I myself have never flown before but I believe the security is necessary.

Of, course the security is necessary but, it seems a bit ridiculous don't you think?

I don't think it'd ridiculous. Terrorists have proved how smart and advanced they are with their plots. High security is necessary because of the advancements with make shift bombs into small objects.

Well, maybe not prove their intelligence. If not the stupidity of federal security.

Ah, great point to be fair. Although i think it's a mixture of both.

Some of the terrorism inventions as such - stroke of brilliance, intelligence wise.

No, I agree it is just that crazy the things I see on news. Like this or this and don't get me started on the TSA

Stuff like that angers me so much. I have so many english born muslim friends who have been detained for hours by iarport security before boarding because of their travel links.

I myself have been detained because of me visiting quite a few predominately muslim countries.
When i was leaving America after moving there for a while, i was called into a room for crying as they asked me questions. What part of "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE." is hard to understand.

I agree that more security is better so long as the security people don't get too lazy or arrogant. I'd rather have more security then another 9-11.

Let's all do the Pokey Pokey!

Nobody wants to see another 9-11, but airport security has gotten out of hand.

I hate the idea that we must go through so many loop holes, just because of a few terrorist attacks. Four airlines are hijacked, now thousands upon thousands of airlines have extremely strict security practices. I'm not saying we shouldn't have security, but we should try to find a way of protecting people without treating everyone like inmates.

I'm sure we could easily replace body scanners with security that actually goes on air flights with the passengers.

I also don't understand why children must also go through these security measures. Sure, terrorists could use children to carry weapons on board, but come on.

Here's a little girl who could have been hiding a Glock in her back pocket! Totally excusable.

lol, it isn't child abuse if it's in the name of security, amirite?

I understand that most kids probably don't start kicking and screaming. Mommy and daddy told them everything was going to be okay, so they are taught that searches like this are a normal thing. This doesn't make it any less wrong though.

If protection means we must treat normal people, including children, as criminals, then it's not worth the protection.

Great! Then we can have hostage situations because no one is having their luggage checked for weapons, or hidden weapons on their person!

Really? What would be easier than to hide a weapon on a kid, who's going to check the harmless kid...oh wait..

And security on the plane is going to be able to spot a bomb better than a body scanner how?
Security on a plane would more be for preventing a hostage situation but now people just try to blow everything up.

I said body scanners. You know, the ones that make sure you don't have a knife in your *******.

How so? If you mean the full body scanners, they aren't so bad. You never see the person who looked at your junk, and they can see if you are carrying a few illicit items. Also, the radiation is only equal to two minutes of flying time. Sure, it could be a little inconvenient, but if it keeps you safe...

Better Safe Than Sorry.
