@Nightwish I believe I was at stage 4 of vampirism (max), but I say to you, it sucks. In daylight you do not regen Health nor Magicka and Stamina. So basically potions fer dayz. I think you got a bonus at night but it wasn't really worth it.
Well, glad I'm not doing it for the fun but for the challenge. I loved in Oblivion to be able to only travel at night and just suck blood from random people.
And for the quest, UESP says it is a very glitchy one so I hope you play pc-style. And btw did u tried to load a save game from before starting the quest?
Not even an Autosave ?.? Wow, I think that's why I have 6 save games for each character. U could hope for a patch to fix this (little bit unlikely) or fast travel and talk to him again in a few days.
Plus what is with peoples obssession over this game? I mean it looks good, but is it really worth it game play wise? I mean I debated getting it and decided not to the moment I was inside the store looking at it.

Two of my friends thought it looked crappy. One of them HATED the previous Elder Scroll games, the other just didn't think it looked fun at all. Both of them became addicts when playing. I believe the only people who would dislike Skyrim are those who just dislike RPGs in general.
Yeah, Skyrim lacks in really unique and useful stuff. Daedra artifacts are cool, but what about peope who don't want to mess with daedra because of role play?
I love RPGs, but this game just doesn't seem all that great. It seems more tedious than anything and trust me I know tedious. I've planned games like that they aren't fun.
Skyrim may have less unique items, and many of them are Daedric artifacts; but it makes it up with really unique effects, that not even Morrowind had; such as the shadow veil effect of the Ebony Mail, or Wuuthrads extra damage against elves. In Morrowind, unique items often were unique because they had a lot of effects, or very strong ones (see the Wraithguard, a neat piece of Dwemer metal pumped full of enchantments); but the effects as such weren't special. And the Companions, the College and the Thieves Guild each have their unique item/s unrelated to daedras.
Pickpocket is the way to earn some serious dough and levels. Also, is it possible to kill any important people like the greybeards, jarls, housecarls, etc? I tried to assassinate Vignar Grey-Mane, but he wouldn't die. I understand he is part of the main storyline once you side with the Stormcloaks.....but still.
