I have asked this question many times and never gotten an answer. Is it considered a Sin if a soldier kills a terrorist. As the terrorists are following there religion, when preforming sucide bombings or so I'm told. I would like to know the answer to this question, as I am a Christian and hope to be a soldier when I'm 18. But overall people who kill the enemy are just soldiers who are following orders.

What is your verdict on this?

You can kill your enemy as long as your fighting for your country.

Yes, because you killed a person, you're taking another person's life. I don't know if The Commandments gives conditions to killing (such as it's not a sin if it was defense, or they hit first). Great questions though.

This comment kind of scares me. I hope you have more behind this than that and just didn't elaborate.

According to Baptists it isn't a sin. In Baptistism(???) it's okay to kill as long as its to defend your and others lifes like in war or killing terrorists.

From a religious standpoint, I don't think it matters if it was defense or not. "Love your enemy" stands in all cases. If you take up a weapon against them, you're no better than they are, hence die by the sword.

You are supposed to love them, but in my opinion saving lives is more important than loving people, and if you forced to kill someone because there going to kill other that doesn't count as not loving them, you can still love them, your just preserving life.(of the people they would've killed and of your entire country.)

First off I don't believe in "sins". Second these terrorists are not following their religion.

according to the LDS, killing is only acceptable when doing so as a soldier. nothing else will justify it.

Mormonism is a cult.

"Headshot! Hell yeah!" lots of love for the enemy during war...

in the bible it also says that your can defend yourself your family your neighbors and your county so yeah blow them away!!!!

Where does it say that?

In the, "It says what I want it to and I don't look at what I don't want to" version.

Yes, there are ways were you can kill you enemies and not love them, like celebrating their deaths, but there are also ways you can love them.

If it is a gratuitous kill, like, 'you're helpless right now and I'm feeling so mighty by killing you, my foe', then of course it's inacceptable. You shouldn't kill someoe only because you can, and only because he is in the enemy camp.

I have to agree this is definitely a sin, and if I do join the army I would never do this!

If a Christian ever says it's wrong to kill an enemy soldier (if it is for a just cause or you're defending your homeland) tell him 'what about the crusades? 'I am defending my country and fighting for what I think is right, if you don't like it that's ok you're not fighting this war.'
