So, uh, yeah, the title pretty much says it. Lots of topics turn into religion debates, so this is meant for that. Mine is Atheist. Feel free to oppose, but I'll oppose your post, too.
I would consider that they are similar in some aspects in Ancient India, but as they spread out Buddhism took on many local adaptations, so there's say Chinese Buddhism which is very difference from Hinduism.
If I remember correctly I got the quote from here. Buddhism: The last honest religion? Entertaining Q&A with Dalai Lama
good video, it's always intresting and funny to listen to the dalai lama.

so we can't debate any of it because it will be different from other areas wich is called the same but is different. it's to much for me to keep in mind.
been reading that site of emperors links now and i readed this: (1st the origenal quote, then some that comes after it.)
"All my followers should not accept my teaching out of devotion or faith; but rather through investigation and experiment."
So investigate based on reason but through logical investigation. If something contradicts, in Buddhaâs own words, then we have the right to reject that."
other religions realy can learn from them. it's realy to bad there are so many that can't be reasoned with.
christianity says that their god is perfect ad is able to do anything and more of which you can think of. having such god in mind means that he can create evrything on it's own.
This is one thing I always get hung up on when I think about believing in a god. The definition of god says that he/she is omnipotent. Omnipotence is logically impossible. The paradox of omnipotence explains this quite well.
That's only an attribute to certain gods, in particular the Abrahamic God.
As well as the Christian god correct? Well, even if it is not 99% of Christians will say that God can do anything. This proves that, logistically, this is impossible.
The Abrahamic God IS the Christian god. As well as the Muslim god and the Jewish god. All 3 religions worship the same god, but have different views on how to live life and who was a prophet of said god.

I did know this, I just did not know the meaning of the word "Abrahamic".
I have made major deliberations over the matter of whether or not religion is correct. In the end, I have decided that I do not believe in the one I was raised in (mormonism, for the newer members)
I have decided that religion defies logic, and logic is one of the few things we have left that gives us reasoning. I have found that I cannot believe in religion, simply because it doesn't add up whatsoever. I also cannot believe because the for the people around me that I see who do believe, I see them moving along like sheep, almost to the slaughter if you will. I see them blindly following something, and I know for a fact that walking in the dark tends to end badly.
it's a shame that I used to be such an avid believer just a year ago, but can now see such a harsh difference between me then, and me now.

That's quite common. I find it better to think on it as a learning experience instead of being ashamed.
