So, uh, yeah, the title pretty much says it. Lots of topics turn into religion debates, so this is meant for that. Mine is Atheist. Feel free to oppose, but I'll oppose your post, too.

No, not a literal voice

Why not in a literal voice?

A talk with Him in a dream

Oh. A dream. My last dream had me combating...that is all I will disclose. I will, however, state that that never happened in real life and I will assume that it will never happen.

About the sign, sometimes I will be reading my Bible, and the answer will be in the text im reading.

"Lets see. I need help on this problem.... What is x when 5x=2000? Lets see Bible, help me out! Hum. 400 foreskins you say? Yes, that is right! I must collect 400 foreskins to find the answer!"

Like that?

For instance, if I'm praying wondering if I should witness to a neighbor, I might see "...call upon me, and I will answer thee, and I will show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.". That verse is a verse of challenge. Do you get what im saying?

"Witness a neighbor"? I am not sure what that is, but it sounds kind of creepy, and I don't know how that verse could tell you anything...

View it this way: I have called upon Him, and he is answering me. So, whats the next thing in the verse? ..."I will show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not".

Again, this to me seems like you think, "I hate commercial about deodorant" while watching TV, then think you're psychic because a deodorant commercial comes on. You're connecting two different things while putting yourself in a place to be able to connect them, and drawing an illogical conclusion.

To 314d1, God doesn't speak in a literal voice, because he is a spiritual being. And the sign thing, the answer to such a petty math question of that would probably be "no". To witness means to show, or teach. I would witness to a neighbor about my Christian beliefs.

An all powerful spiritual being, why would he not speak in a physical voice? If your speaking to a blind man, do you use sign language? If your speaking to a Frenchman, do you use Russian? I would hope not. Why would he not speak in a language that people could understand?

And the sign thing, the answer to such a petty math question of that would probably be "no".

....5x=no? I think Yahweh's math may be off. It was off plenty of times in the Bible, it is probably a usual thing now.

...Does it?

Let's try it out with my screwdriver.

I asked my screwdriver "what is the meaning of life." In my head I the mental image of my bird and a thought to look to my bird. So I do this and he gets on my hand and cuddles up to me wanting to be pet. Clearly the screwdriver has answered telling me the meaning of life is to seek comfort.

How is this any different from what your doing?

I can quite clearly imagine my leg being smashed. It's like it's real. But I'm just imagining it.

You would think a being who supposedly made an entire universe using math as a universal language would be able to do basic math.

Great. It is really irrelevant. I would prefer that you would argue my other points. Like why wouldn't Yawheh speak using a physical voice?

Do you think He would really care about your math? And, besides, He wouldn't help you anyway, cause that would be cheating.

But does he help you to do well in school? Wouldn't that be cheating? Or to do well in life? Or to do well in an interview? Would invoking him at any point be cheating?

Why does he refuse to speak?

Oh, right, so He speaks in a physical voice to every person praying in the universe. Global panic. Voices talking in midair. I think that may have something to do with it.

So God existing is totally fine, but the minute he actually speaks its a problem?

Something feeling real when it's not can also easily happen. Here is an example of this.
