I know this could be a touchy subject, but I mean this thread to be more about learning about each other than anything else.
I'm English and I'm genuinely interested to learn of the racial stereotypes about the people I live and work around.
Please note, whilst I'm welcoming posts about racial stereotypes, I don't mean racial insults. For instance, a racial stereotype where I am is that those in the south of the USA tend to be less tolerant than those in the north. It isn't insulting, it is almost asking a question.
Fully appreciate that the mods may view this thread as a step too far.
For those who are shy to post on this because they may be perceived as racist, I'm English, so I invite any stereotypes of the English.
The English are supposed to have a world famous sense of humour, so it shouldn't offend any other English people, but come on, lets dispel some myths?
The only thing that makes threads like this racist is intent, and the intent here is to dispel myths and make us understand each other more. I genuinely don't understand certain cultures due to media bias, so I want to learn.
Please don't use this thread as an excuse for anything other than genuine purposes, it'll make me look like a mug for one, but on another it will discourage people from being truly honest about the differences between countries in the future.
>.> Well, this actually seems like it's kind of fun. But wouldn't it be more at home in the Tavern or something?
Please note: I know none of this is actually accurate, and I'm not trying to offend anybody(even if some of the stereotypes are more positive than negative).
Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese are all extremely good at math. Koreans are all obsessed with computer games and the internet. Japanese are all weird sexual fiends. Chinese are all hard-working, no-tolerance-for-failure people. Israelis are all awesome soldiers who could kick anybody's *** in a fight and know a bunch of ways to kill people. That includes the women, and sometimes the children, who are stereotypically raised in some kind of super-Spartan society. British are all stuck-up, terrible chefs with horrible dental hygiene who love to drink tea and eat crumpets, whatever crumpets are. Canadians are super polite but eccentric people who always say "eh" at the end of everything, and who are obsessed with maple syrup, snow, and moose. Australians are all total bad-***** who are always surrounded by poisonous kill-you-to-death creatures and plants, and who are totally nonchalant about it. Russians are also bad-***** like Australians, but instead of not giving a **** about poisonous creatures, they don't care about the snow. They are also all obsessed with vodka, and all the men are named either "Nikolai", "Sergei", or "Dmitri". French people are arrogant but romantic people, awesome chefs, and total cowards. All of this applies to the Italians as well, minus the arrogance part. Germans are all tough as nails, super-perfectionist OCD people with absolutely no sense of humor. Indian men are easily-angered convenience store owners. Indian women are bellydancers who always have that dot between their eyes.
That's all I can think of for now. What do you guys think of Americans as?
