Since Christianity FTW is a debate between christians and atheists I decided to make a new thread for a debate between christians and christians alone.

This is a debate between christian who have a different veiw of the bible, how to get to heaven, etc. It's about the types of christians and which ones are right and which ones are wrong. There are Roman Catholics, methodists, baptists, etc each with a different veiw of the bible.
This is a debate between the christians. State what type of christian you are and explain why you think being this type of christian is the right path.

This is what I also PERSONALLY believe god doesn't just hand stuff to you he sends down signs signals on opputunities that you are supposed to take. and we do not pray to saints we ask them to voutche vouche i have no idea how it is spelt but any way we ask for these people we know are saints cause they either died for the church or performed 3 miracles it is also why some people like Richard the Lionheart didn't become a saint plus he killed thousands of innocent people and i will admit the catholic church has done prety messed up things and i agree with you blade I plan to become a scientist but i do not let it get in my way and yes i am rambling again

what, there are only atheists and christians on armorgames?

between christians and christians alone.

how will you control what others believe? how will you control this thread if you are not even a mod or an admin?

if there would be an almighty god, then he could create a stone that even he could not lift up. but even if he can create such a stone, he cant lft it and that means he is not almighty. but if he is not almighty then he cant create this stone.

do you get it?

Mostly. A couple of active Muslims, one Hindu, and some ex-Buddhists turned atheist.

*Sigh* I just wanted to learn about what the other types of christians views were. That way I could understand them better. Truth is when I talked to some people they didn't even know what a baptist was. For some odd reason some didn't know what a catholic was. Thats one of the reasons I brought this up. Not just to debate each other.

To anyone who mocks the Holy Spirit(including Christians)-

Matthew 12:31-32 "And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."

Putting a human spin on the bible? We always do that. No one has "God's help" understanding the Bible. They just mangle the Bible to where it suits their world-view. Kinda explains why I'm an Atheist.

I understand where you come from, but I don't agree that "mangling" is the right term. I'm a Catholic, but I don't take the Bible literally, nor have I read the whole thing. The readings I hear in Church, though, I interpret like I would a novel, as metaphorical truth, of which people can find their own meanings.

is the novel based on a true story, or is it fiction?

Might I remind you that things in the Bible were taken as metaphor only after being disproven. Really this "It's only a metaphor" is nothing more then moving the goalpost.

It's moving the goalpost if the metaphorical interpretation is in response to something in the Bible being disproven. This argument is sounding like guilt by association to me.

As far as the bible goes, I'd put it under historical fiction. A lot of the stuff like wars or locations or people etc may have been real, but divine intervention and miracles and other stuff was added for hype. Kind of like how the movie Titanic contains a lot of real stuff, but some plot elements were added for drama.

I really cant say on that. It could be true.. could be not. I think it is. Some people think that the people who wrote that were "seeing" stuff. But i dont think so. If i could go back in time and see for myself i would but oh.. time travel isnt real... YET?

I believe that our bodies are like... skins... we have a Spirit on the inside that breaks free when the "Skins" Have had enough and die off. Then after that its time for the decision on where you'll be.. HEAVEN (FTW) or Hell...

I sensed somebody called for me (indirectly) so I have come. that deconverted one is me, and I'm actually starting to accept it, and even embrace it.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a really hard time understanding what this post is talking about. so I will make a response based off what I think it means:

bible isn't true, multiple parts in it show how illogical it is.

I don't know about time travel, but it would be cool if it happens.

the "spirit" you are talking about is just your complex brain making a bunch of nerve pulses in order to give you sentience, nothing really spiritual about it.

if heaven exists, then chances are I'm probably no longer going there.

yes, i'm sure the non-existient being will attack me after I have become wormfood, and am no longer worth attacking. sounds like a really logical plan there.
