sometimes it takes me 10 tries before I couldcorrectly read the pics, which is quite stupid since really those spambots that read pics are REALLY hard to make and therefore don't come cheap.
CAPTCHAs are a failure, in that sense. If a bot is programmed to successfully get past a CAPTCHA, theoretically they'll be able to pass it 100% of the time.
Humans, however, can't always read the words in the CAPTCHA. I know I've had to refresh the page a couple times already just because I had no idea what the blotched word was. If a bot can pass it 100% of the time, the only way to actually prove that you're human is to purposely spell both words incorrectly.
In other words, you're more likely to pass the CAPTCHA if you're a bot. So, with that being said, the caption about the CAPTCHA should read "Are you a bot?"

Exactly. That could very well be how the bots are doing it, which means they'll theoretically pass the CAPTCHA every time. But if a human doesn't use codes and decides to attempt the CAPTCHA the "old-fashioned" way, it would be better for that person to spell the words almost correctly but incorrectly enough so that it doesn't get through. That would show that you read the given words and know what they are, which a bot could not do, but you intentionally failed the test so that you couldn't get through.
Unfortunately, that method contradicts itself, in the sense that if this was the method used for CAPTCHAs, it wouldn't work because you'd have to fail the test in order to pass the test.

interesting idea, don't think it would work, too easy for the bots to just be adjusted to that, anyways the code way works alot better and is alot better on the eyes and brain, right now I'm doing that method instead of having to go through those stupid pics everytime.
Sorry, to interrupt but could somebody explain to me how this whole spam problem erupted? I stopped going to this forum for a good while now. And I was bored today so I decided to snoop around the forums a little and BAM live stream everywhere.

Well welcome to the after effects of a failed crackdown on spam bots. I don't really know why it started to heppen, all I know is it has been happenining for a while now and it's from quite a wide assortment of websites. I'm wondering though if any of those live stream sites are clean from viruses since spambots usually aren't a legitamate advertising technique.

The thing that puzzles me the most is why it's just live stream and sports related spam. Why aren't we seeing spam bots post porn links or bizarre weight loss technique sites?
Wow just tried the audio version of captcha and it creeped the **** out of me, its a bunch of static and voices of people talking played backwards while there are people saying numbers. Haha I hope I never encounter something like that in a horror game.

From what I've seen, there are only about three or so different sites from which these bots are spawning. From what I've gathered from hovering over the links, one is for watching TV online, one is specifically for rugby and one is for sports in general. All three are blogspot links, which leads me to believe that the same people are behind programming every one of these bots.

sounds like it could be possible, but AG has had attacks from these websites before so I wonder why all of the sudden it's so large? Also I wonder if the bots are using a java exploit because gathering these many codes for posts takes dedication, but if they programed text bots just to flood a webstie, maybe they got alot of codes as well.
