Yes i am aware it was just a sarcastic way to show that i am a strong skeptic on the matter. Also people are born on that day :0...
The talk is about survivors, not total population. If a single person dies that day (somebody dies once every less than three seconds) then we lose a surviver. It doesn't matter if that person gets replaced, because he is still dead. And yes, I was aware it was sarcasm. And cake is better. The pie is a lie! The world will end when you don't expect it, although you might expect it.
the sun is ending near 500m years, not 3 billion. right now there's no major threat except for an epidemic and natural disaster... who know's aliens might come!(trying to be sarcastic.)
@Younghoo- The sun will collapse in 5 billion years. http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/question.php?number=232 Remember to use evidence if you have competing facts.
@Divolurr- Actually it is possible that the world could have a catastrophic conclusion to most life on Earth at any time. Have you ever heard of a gamma-ray burst? It is like a massive supernova in which huge amounts of radiation are released as a black hole forms.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_ray_burst Scientists think that if we are within 100,000 light years of one we are in the kill zone, Eta Carinae is about 8,000 light years away and thought ready to explode at any time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eta_Carinae Also, we could get hit by a massive asteroid/comet with only a few weeks notice.
