It's time for battle! Do you have what it takes to make a good plan to survive a real life like simulated battle? The Battle Strategy Club will create many real like battle situations where you put yourself in the shoes of a soldier in that situation. Like the survival clubs on AG, in this club, members will have to make a plan for each part of the scenario that would keep them alive. At the beginning of each scenario you will be given,
-Time and location
-Equipment and other personal you have with you
-Info about the enemy
-Important info about elements that affect your decisions
-The goal to achieve victory
Before you start participating in the club you must enlist with the WarGeneral. As members complete scenarios they will move up in rank.
Let the battle begin!

Scenario #1 3/2/2010

Time- Day 4:30pm
Location- Iraq desert between mountain range
Conditions- Sunny, temp 80, wind 40mph north
Personal- 12 soldiers total, 1 medic, 1 engineer, 10 infantry
Equipment- 3 humvee's, 2 are damaged, every soldier has one water jug, flare, basic uniform, and 25 mile cb radio, infantry has M4 with 2 extra clips, medic has med pac, engineer has basic tools to disarm explosives.

Part one- The convoy of the 3 humvee's with the 12 soldiers left camp Bravo and are traveling a back road that cuts through the montains to get to camp Delta, which is 50 miles east of camp Bravo. At 4:30pm, 20 miles west of camp Bravo the convoy gets hit with a road side bomb destroying the first two humvee's. In the first Humvee, the driver and front pasenger get killed(infantry). The engineer and another infantry soldier get badly injured enough to not make them mobile. In the secound humvee, Two infantry soldiers get minor wounds, but are still mobile, the other two are fine. The medic and the other three infantry soldiers in the third humvee are fine.
The mountains block radio contact to either base until you are only 5 miles away from them. 10 miles to the south is a small village(pop 8000) were most residents are hostile towards you. The Intel claims there is a 10-20 man enemy unit on foot with ak47s the patrols the village every 2 hours. The residents in the village have radios that could reach the base and food. The road were the convoy was hit is patroled by a 10-20 man enemy unit with trucks and ak47s that go up and down the road at 30mph.

You are the squad leader(a infantry soldier). You need to recover the convoy from the bomb and then plan what to do befor night hits(7:30pm).

I would have the medic make landmines around our perimeter so they could slow down and take out many of the enemy. I would have the medic help the wounded gunner get to a safe spot and the other gunner and the captain would run where the medic and wounded gunner was to hold them off. When they started getting too close, the medic and other gunner would carry the wounded gunner out of there, firing back of course. The captain would call in an air strike.

Option #2. I would have the medic make landmines around the perimeter and we would hide in the swamp until the enemy passed. We would have killed many of the enemy, AND we would be safe.

I wouldn't attack the camp or the quards cuz theres 120-140 enemies in it while we have 4 fit people to go in the camp I think someone will find out that the guards or missing or killed so I think in the end you'll be taken as a POW or butchered.

i go in at NIGHTFALL, everyone is probably asleep

Scenario 2# We walk about 1 and a half miles towards the squad. I get the food supply from every man and place it i a fake tent made from cloth found in the medic's tent. Hoping it will attack animals I was right because we were hidden in the tree's we couldn't see what it was, but it caught them by surprise. By now we estimated half their bullets were use and there was still commotion going on. When 1 third of the bullets are estimated to be used we get a few fines and wrap them around the guns and knifes we have we then duck tape a mine. The second we poke out the vines (with the enemy not noticing) we tape the trigger of the guns down a push the forwards. Then one of the enemy decides to shoot then down. when they do that all the mines explode. We then place plastic explosives (engineers work) in our water jugs and throw them at the enemy. As the last man falls we come down and finally help the wounded gunner who was hiding in the bushes. We finally come to rescue and fix the helicopter. We then fly towards the border and fly through it with loud cheers and yells.

If a helicopter gets hit in the sky by a rocket or what ever, and crash lands, it will take more than a field engineer with his basic equipment to get it flying again.
Very good plan on taking out the enemy squads though. For your first effort I promote you to private first class.

Ok plans but remember you do not have a radio to call in an airstrike, and you need to make a plan on how to get the POW out of the enemy camp

I'm bored so I'll say how to get the POW out of camp.
This scenario assumes that my wounded heavy gunner is dead.

About 200 feet away from the POW camp I'll get my engineer to set up a claymine on a tree, then get him to set up a claymore on the ground 5-10 paces away from the tree. Next get my medic and engineer in two different trees on both of the enemies flanks then me and the heavy gunner at their rear. Afterwards I'll shoot the claymore to set up an audible explosion at the POW camp where I'm assuming they'll set up a defensive perimeter around the camp and in it and send maybe 15-20 men to check out the explosion. When the the guerillas get about 5-10 paces from the trees I'll shoot the claymore on the ground so it slays a few or most of them, then bellow FIRE to my men so all the guerillas see fire coming in from every which way from the flanks, the rear and the explosion from the front. Then I'll kill all the survivors save one, but gag him, and bound him. After that I'll take the dead guerillas clothing and exchange them for mine (I'm assuming we know the guerillas language because were special forces). Next I'll torture the guerilla till he tells up the set up of their camp thoroughly and where the POW is, but kill him afterwards with a shot to the head. Then I'll walk into the camp tell the guards the enemy soldiers retreated and were all that's left of the recon team, I'll explain to the guards were bloody from retreating and fighting. After that I'll find the POW's position in the camp, tell the current guards that were to replace them. If they get suspicious I'll scream at them "complain to the commander not us",.Then I'll walk into the tent tell them who we are and walk them out of camp and tell whoever we meet we were ordered to shoot him 500 paces from camp and scream at anyone who asks me the commanders name to stop wasting me time. Then when I'm out of sight in the jungle I'll shoot a shot in the air to make it seem like I shot the POW and get the hell out of there asap. Then I'll goto the plane crash, and hope my radio in the helicopter isn't to badly damaged and set my engineer on it, hope it gets fixed radio in and ask on instructions out of the jungle and follow them till I'm out of the jungle.

Mission completed and the army wont care that I shot a guerilla and tortured one cuz they either wont know or wont care I think.

Oh I forgot to mention when I'm ambushing the enemy I was hoping they'll panick and retreat back to camp.

Oh and I know theres probably a few flaws in my plan.

I'd get the engineer to rig up some c4 on the broken down helicopter cause the enemy always checks in there first, drag the dead pilots out (never leave a man behind) and set up the heavy gunners in ambush positions. Wait for the majority of the enemy squad (by the way: how big is the enemy squad, the four of them coming at you?) and detonate the c4. Killing at least 10. The rest will be shot down by the gunners and myself. I would then call in a helicopter with two gun ships in the lead to take out any enemy survivors. The helicopter would give us some more explosives and ammo and we would put the two pilots in a body bag and give them to the helicopter crew. The helicopter takes off and I order the medic to splint the broken leg on the heavy gunner. We will then proceed with caution. Night falls so we all don NVGs. We move in stealthy as possible. We see two guards at the enemy camp and take them out cautiously. I go up one of the towers the two dead guards were at and take out the sniper on top. We hide the bodies. I order one heavy gunner and the medic around one of the barracks to search for the POW. Me and the other heavy gunner and the engineer follow closely behind. I call in to base about the location of the POW. he is two barraks down. We silently knife three more guards on the way but its getting to suspicious now. We see the POW in the barracks, along with two guards, both asleep. But a 4 man patrol is coming. We wait for the patrol to pass and we move into the barracks and knife both the guards. I untied the the POW as the engineer calls in that we have the POW and need stand-by air support and a chopper to get us out of there. I give the POW a gun, just in case. We make our way outside the camp and here sirens go off. Air support arived just in time as the base goes up in smoke. We walk another mile and the evac. helicopter comes in. With two fighter jets as an escort clean up a little bit to make the LZ more safe. We load up. Mission accomplished.

Where are you going to radio in to base for a helicopter our radios are supposed to be dead? And why not send the gunner in a gunship away from the jungle. Theres 120-140 guards in the POW camp theres no way your plan of getting in and out will work because theres gonna be more than 6 guards on duty outside of the camp or in the tower and they'd see you climbing up it. Whoever guarding the barracks would wake the sleeping two soldiers and flay em a bit probably. I don't think your plan is to successful in my view and lastly I think a squad would be set up of at LEAST 10 men so that's 40 soldiers around the helicoper maybe at the most 20 soldiers killed at first from surpise attack and explosion the other 20 turn on you and slaughter you cuz you only have 5 men in all. I see flaws written all around your plan in every aspect, sorry.

A squad is usually 4-8 guys not 10. What you said would be more like a platoon coming at us.
