The original "This Thread is Currently About" is back! Yes, it's Count to 100!

HOW TO PLAY

1. Count by ones from 1 to 100 in 100 consecutive posts according to the Core Rules.
2. Restart the count from 1 after:
a. a Moderator (or an Administrator) makes a stopping post (post without counting) if users and Knights are counting..
b. a user or Knight or Warden makes a stopping post (post without counting) if Moderators and Administrators are counting.
c. breaking a core rule, spamming, or cheating.
d. reaching 100.
3. Announce why you restart the count so other counters don't get confused.
NOTE: For the time being, Moderators are allowed to help Users count, so as long as the other rules are observed you do not need to restart the count if you see a mod count. However, if a Moderator makes a stopping post, i.e. a post without counting (not the same as a non-count post since they're technically different teams), it is considered an interruption and the count will restart.

CORE RULES

No mistakes. A count must start from 1 and increase by ones up to 100, save for exceptions noted.
No double-counting. No counter may count two consecutive numbers.
No back-to-back counting. No two counters may alternate for more than three consecutive numbers.
Okay: P1 P2 P1 P3
Not Okay: P1 P2 P1 P2
Okay: P1 P2 reset P1 P2
No editing. No counter may edit their post. If an edit tag shows on a count, the attempt is forfeit.

ADDiTiONAL RULES

No "spamming". Please don't post only the number and please don't post gibberish, either.
Multiple one- or two-word counts may also disqualify a count.
No "cheating". This shouldn't need to be said. Counting to 100 doesn't count if you cheat.
This is an exercise in teamwork, not rule bending.
No "spoiling". Don't mess with the count. Posts should start with the correct number.
Posts with no numbers should be ignored. See also: No non-counts.
Posts with intentional mistakes should be ignored.
No "spilping". If this is your first post in this thread, please post "I'm new and here to count to 100!"
No non-counts. No counter may post without a counting number or make a post without bolding that number if that counting number is not at the start of the post.

COMPLETE SET OF RULES
Please refer to the complete set of rules for additional information and examples of what is valid or invalid.
DiSCUSSiON THREAD
Please also check out the discussion thread for new gameplay or rule proposals or general discussion on the gameplay and rules of "Count to 100".

END GAME

Once you reach 100, you start this Sisyphean task all over again back at 1. Users should notify the Commissioner of the Count (HahiHa) that the count reached 100 and the Commissioner will review it to make sure there were no mistakes or cheating. If there were no mistakes or cheating, then the users who took part in the successful count to 100 will get a shiny new Quest!

89. I think we might be able to live on mars far before we land on any other planet.

90. Oops, got intra and inter mixed up. Meant intragalactic, though now I think about it, intersolar is the better word. We are technically intragalactic right now. Being intergalactic would be quite the journey indeed, but I doubt impossible. It'd just take one heckuva long while.

What do you think's stopping us from barging through space manually and wormholelessly?

91. Just ask a supercomputer "Invent a theoretically optimized rocket" and see how far that gets you. If you use the right building materials (e.g. hydrocarbonfluoride, aerosol, and uranium 238) along with a live around the edge of a bamboo shoot design and maybe even a steering system you might be surprised how far that gets you. You have a valid point about Mars @Widestsinger; its by far the easiest planet to terraform; I doubt that Venus and Mercury are worth the effort due to the extreme temperatures and effort required. Actually, I'd like to send our surplus CO^2 to Mars; it would end the climate crisis on this planet and make Mars warm enough to be inhabitable (farther from the sun means colder; more greenhouse gases make the temperature rise more). Basically, in Star Wars terms I think we're currently in the "backwards" outer rim region of our galaxy like Tatanooie. Look up a Star Wars galaxy map while singing along to the Styx song; gaming is itself a form of escapism right?

92. B2B warning, SoGgy.

Venus is actually relatively suitable for terraforming. You *could* live in the atmosphere, but truly terraforming it would require "only" stripping its atmosphere (possibly to send to Mars or wherever else) and constructing some way to make artificial day and night. Mars has a 24-hour day. Venus' day is longer than its year.

Mercury is a hellscape. And it isn't in the habitable zone. The gas giants' moons might be better candidates.

But first, which Styx song are we talking about? The only one I know is Mr Roboto. B2B warning again.

93. The thing I think that will always stop us from just barging through space without a wormhole is just how big space is, and how fast the unobtainable speed of light is

94. I assume that shouldn't be a problem when we (soon) start making progress on life extension.

Anyways, short post, busy, let's finish this one off quick, eh?

B2B warning.

96. Hm. Y'know, thinking about it now, I assume it wouldn't be very nice accidentally making a wormhole straight to the centre of a black hole.

B2B, yadda yadda.

97. Even with extreme life extension, the fastest man made object (not counting the pothole that was launched during nuclear testing) was the shuttle that took pictures of Pluto, and even that only made it 0.05% the speed of light. And the closest possibly habitable planet not in our solar system that I found was 12 light years away.. It would take thousands of years to make it.

98. Well humans have existed for 100000000000000x longer then how long we have been writing or preserving events so I think it will happen just in a very long time! Also 100 soon don’t mess up!

99. It would take 240 years. Of course, the Voyager probes weren't *meant* for interstellar travel. I don't doubt we could reach, say... 20% c for most of the journey. That would still take 60 years for 12 lightyears, though.

@Widestsinger or @Saint_of_Gaming do get the 100 now! Manly and I already have plenty. Here's hoping Helpo won't swoop in for the kill...

Nice, you finished another count! I don't have time to check and edit everything right now, but on a first glance it looks fine. Expect the official verdict in a day or two. Toodles!
