The original "This Thread is Currently About" is back! Yes, it's Count to 100!

HOW TO PLAY

1. Count by ones from 1 to 100 in 100 consecutive posts according to the Core Rules.
2. Restart the count from 1 after:
a. a Moderator (or an Administrator) makes a stopping post (post without counting) if users and Knights are counting..
b. a user or Knight or Warden makes a stopping post (post without counting) if Moderators and Administrators are counting.
c. breaking a core rule, spamming, or cheating.
d. reaching 100.
3. Announce why you restart the count so other counters don't get confused.
NOTE: For the time being, Moderators are allowed to help Users count, so as long as the other rules are observed you do not need to restart the count if you see a mod count. However, if a Moderator makes a stopping post, i.e. a post without counting (not the same as a non-count post since they're technically different teams), it is considered an interruption and the count will restart.

CORE RULES

No mistakes. A count must start from 1 and increase by ones up to 100, save for exceptions noted.
No double-counting. No counter may count two consecutive numbers.
No back-to-back counting. No two counters may alternate for more than three consecutive numbers.
Okay: P1 P2 P1 P3
Not Okay: P1 P2 P1 P2
Okay: P1 P2 reset P1 P2
No editing. No counter may edit their post. If an edit tag shows on a count, the attempt is forfeit.

ADDiTiONAL RULES

No "spamming". Please don't post only the number and please don't post gibberish, either.
Multiple one- or two-word counts may also disqualify a count.
No "cheating". This shouldn't need to be said. Counting to 100 doesn't count if you cheat.
This is an exercise in teamwork, not rule bending.
No "spoiling". Don't mess with the count. Posts should start with the correct number.
Posts with no numbers should be ignored. See also: No non-counts.
Posts with intentional mistakes should be ignored.
No "spilping". If this is your first post in this thread, please post "I'm new and here to count to 100!"
No non-counts. No counter may post without a counting number or make a post without bolding that number if that counting number is not at the start of the post.

COMPLETE SET OF RULES
Please refer to the complete set of rules for additional information and examples of what is valid or invalid.
DiSCUSSiON THREAD
Please also check out the discussion thread for new gameplay or rule proposals or general discussion on the gameplay and rules of "Count to 100".

END GAME

Once you reach 100, you start this Sisyphean task all over again back at 1. Users should notify the Commissioner of the Count (HahiHa) that the count reached 100 and the Commissioner will review it to make sure there were no mistakes or cheating. If there were no mistakes or cheating, then the users who took part in the successful count to 100 will get a shiny new Quest!

Well done, once again! I'll be checking it soon, once I've worked through all the nostalgia lol. I wasn't a mod in the 'Elder Days', but I sure do remember many of those names

- WEPR: simply failed. It ran out of fresh blood. With no more fools trying to argue, they just ran outta material, I think. There's a phrase in my language. "Pametnom jedno dosta". "To a smart man, once is enough". I'd learned my lesson.

I used to spend most of my online time in the WEPR when I joined. Sometimes it was so busy you could basically post refresh post refresh.. I'd say your assessment is pretty accurate though, and maybe it's not a bad thing this particular forum petered out when it did

1. I'd like to make a formal apology for my behavior on the last count. "Ding dongs" was not an appropriate thing for me to say. I don't believe any of you, or at least to my knowledge, can be call the aforementioned phrase. I believe it was the thrill of the moment in being number one hundred, although that does not justify my actions. I'm deeply sorry and I hope I can be forgiven by you all.
(I'm unsure if I'm allowed to start the next count, but being unsure hasn't stopped me doing things before)

2. Fast response, Komissar. Now in all that haste, just don't forget that this *is* the first count of the year

Yea, now according to the rules, volume 6, section 37, "The punishment for gross insult defined as [...] options involving [etc. etc.] is self-disembowelment before a jury of peers".

Or you can fulfill the official apology form SRY-773b by jotting down "OTHER" in the "CAUSE" field. Those are about equivalent in severity, given that the form is several hundred pages long, is filed in triplicate, requires refile in case of rejection, and we retain the right not to tell you the reason of rejection.

3. No offense taken given who posted intermediately before you; for myself though, I'd much rather be a Little Debbie product or at least a Twinkie.

5. It's a shame what's become of browser gaming since the fall of Flash (and before, tbh). They just aren't as deep and complex as they were, they're like better mobile games, with just one quick gimmick and that's about it. I was just playing a new game here for the first time in a long time and tried Rolling Rumble, and no hate to the developer, it's not bad, but it's surprisingly close, both in concept and complexity, to a school project I did with one other person over the course of maybe 3 days. I miss the days where we'd get things like Raze, Kingdom Rush, Sonny etc. where clearly it was at least a small team that took at least a few months. Obviously that's no longer a viable option for websites like AG, but I do miss those times

6.

I'm one of the ancient elders. I migrated from Newgrounds. I used to play the Flash games when this place was called Games of Gondor, before the site was served a Cease and Desist. I was a moderator from somewhere around 2008-2013. It's been something like 6 years since I logged in. I now have a 5 month old child.

Can someone catch me up????

7. Catch you up? Well... God knows *I* couldn't. I've only been here the past 7 years.

Heck, I tried to figure out what WoM was on several occasions. It's like a jawbreaker, and the only reward for licking through a layer of jawbreaker is more jawbreaker. Gantic was like this as well. The textual equivalent of what I assume an acid trip to be like considering I'm a good Catholic boy who doesn't do drugs.

8. An an elder from ancient days has shown himself to us! All hail the mighty Strop!

As for catching you up?... there's simultaneously a lot and not that much to cover. Sciller posted a pretty in depth history of recent years on the last page though, that's a pretty good place to start

9. Firstly I owe Sciller a big old "ZOINKS!" That was as through a recap of recent events I have read in a while. And I seemed to have summoned Strop, which...my goodness you gracious devil you have a kid! That's some awesome to hear I will continue my quest of summoning old faces, for my own amusement and not some nefarious plan involving surplus off brand cereals.

11. Hehehe. And here I'd thought my writingural efforts would go unzoinks'd!

Anyways, I'd been looking at forum software because, well, who would I be if I did not search for only the finest carts, and I found a little thing called Flarum.

Now the link leads you to the demo site, and... am I mad or is that not Boppins' old armatar? He *was* the Backend web-dev here on AG wasn't he?

12. yeah it does look like things did quieten down and then of course the end of Flash etc... for a while I satisfied some nostalgia with various Flash Archives but they were all quite imperfect. I see that in-browser players have improved somewhat though. I just haven't had much time to get back to them. And I'd really like to know what happened to the old team whom I've mostly lost touch with: Asherlee, dank, Zophia, Estel, and the admins, like flipski, cormyn, MrDayCee, Gantic (we know how he left, but how is he going?). After John was poached by Kong I wonder where he and Carlie went off to. And of course the founder, Dan.

ubertuna vanished before I even left. Shortly after that, Devoidless, well, his departure was a matter of some infamy in itself. NoName I actually still do contact from time to time. I actually did keep up with Cenere until the last couple of years. Sonatavarius (I think?) remains active on my Facebook feed lol, as does DragonMistress. I was interviewed by, oh my god I can't remember their AG username because they've changed handle since, for a podcast they were starting back in 2019. The nutter that was Klaushouse, I caught up with from time to time also but haven't for a couple of years. I think I last spoke to Moegreche in 2018 and was regaled with a rousing account of the latest thought experiments in the field of epistemology which really takes me back. There are many others I've not mentioned, too many to list but I do wonder about each and every one of them.

So I left sometime in 2013 I think. I'd just met the woman who would eventually become my wife and I was procrastinating completing the Way of Moderation, but somehow Cen and I got it over the line. What happened since then?
2014-2018 was my work and study hell. I don't miss those days. I logged back in sometime in 2018 to announce that I'd passed my physician exams.
2019: started specialist training. My wife moved interstate to pursue a career opportunity
2020: spent most of the year locked inside thanks to COVID. Solitude was actually a good thing for me as I discovered a lot of things about myself, got my fitness back, etc.
2021: managed to get married on the one weekend that year anybody could actually have a wedding ceremony, lucky! Then moved interstate to reunite with the wife only to land right as another lockdown was starting.
2023: completed the first of my 2 specialist training programs. We had a kid.

I've left a lot out but suffice to say my time is spent a LOT differently these days! I heard you got married @the_most_manly_man??? I want details! From everyone!
