I believe in free enterprise, but I can definitely think of several aspects of socialism that may be desirable under certain circumstances.

They were for the most part impractical with little to no use.

so was the moonlanding.
the US and USSR were in a constant race about who can achieve what faster. most of these things had not deeper reason.

Lets make a list.

First Satellite: USSR
First in Space: USSR
Faster Developing Economy: USA
Small and More Powerful Missiles: USA
First to the Moon: USA
Longest Lasting: USA
Less Totalitarians: USA

Seems we did a little bit better.

Name one failed capitalist society

When Sweden's economy collapsed in the 90s. I could name a whole lot more but you only wanted one.

Complete collapse? Or a partial collapse and an 'I give up' attitude?

And give me some more.

You missed a few things -

First H-Bomb - Soviet Union
First Atom-Bomb - America
Equal Rights - Soviet Union

And I don't agree with "Fastest Growing Economy - America"
In the years before the October Revolution Russia was just a farming nation - And when the Bolshiveks took control they incressed production in almost evreything.
Lowest Expectionsy: 200%
Highest: 3000%.

The United States didn't allow 100% equal rights and still don't. The Soviet Union started Woman and Multi-Race Rights in the 40s.

Woman and Multi-Race Rights in the 40s.

1. We gave women complete rights in the 20s.

2. Well, I can't say anything about that. I have no proof that it happened nor anything that it didn't happen. Proof please?

Women could work and had the exact same work opportunities as men did.

the USSR was fairly equal, the problem was that everyone was equally poor, equally frustrated, and equally oppressed. There was no free speech, there was no way to move up in society, everyone was a worker ant with nothing to look forward to. You could put in a ton of effort, and still be at the same level your whole life, because the country is based on national success, not personal success. And we all know how difficult it is to depend on others for your success.

You will find that democratic socialism and Scandanavian socialism is different from Leninism.
