Ya no argument with that The people above were talking about the USSR though. Socialism isn't a bad thing at all. The idea is great, but everything has to be done to an extent

You don't need to have a totalitarian tyranny to have a socialist nation. Does Canada look like it's about to become a dictatorship just because the government controls health care? Does Sweden not have a congress? Sweden is pretty much a socialist nation and we even have a Swedish user here named Zega that posts whatever he wants. Anyone that tells you socialism always becomes a totalitarian state is false and is proven false.

Yeah, nothing bad about them. None of them are 100% socialist though. That would be bad in the same way that a 100% capitalist nation would. I think though that I prefer a slightly more capitalist nation.

Well, you could have everything but retail ( I.e Wal-Mart ) nationalized and still be seen as a socialist nation.

Doesn't 100% socialist = communist? And this is about socialism right? So wouldnt that make this thread Capitalism vs Less than or Equal to 99% Socialism? =P

I might be wrong...if not could someone correct me?

I prefer a Laissez-faire system but between the two option Capitalism.

Laissez-faire

That is the system which too often fails because there are absolutely no government-funded institutions. Nothing stops corporations from using false-advertisement. Nothing prevents them from having unethical treatment of its workers.

Well then a compromise between that and Capitalism, and yes I know they're already a lot a like but I feel the government should have less influence on corporations, or go balls out socialist :P

Well that's a difficult question, 100% socialism would mean everything is controlled by either society or a very large government.

So I'd say in a libertarian point of view that 100% socialism would probably be communism. But it depends on purely how you look at it.
