What i HATE about these school is that you cant pray at school, but you can kiss, show innapropiatism cuss and alot of things..well i think schools are terribly out of hand with no religions but still very bad things floating around in school.whats your look at these?
wow, thats bad,i used to prey alot but because of school i kinda stopped.. but i started again in summer and im gonna keep going in school.and yeah i hate that schools in america, canada, and school everywhere (besides religion based schools) ar turning into what i call "Religion Racism's"
You can't pray in schools? Haven't heard that one before
buddy, you need to learn alot about schools..
oh and nickelbacksucks (i agree) but some people like to pray before lunch to bless the food given to them..how can they do that? wait till they get home to eat?
A public school cannot impose prayer upon its students, but it also cannot stop a student from praying. If your school is not allowing you to pray, then you should inform your parents so they can approach the appropriate administrators.
I go to a christaian school where we do pray, so i don't think much into this topic, but i do understand the cause of ur anger, like how angry anyone at my school (teachers and such) get so mad at the tiniest little things, like rolling ur eyes at someone (which i don't, btw, do very often).
Wow, that's very interesting and surprising. I just now looked up several legal cases and other information on the topic and you are schools are constitutionally bound to let a student (or faculty member) pray as long as it doesn't disrupt the educational process. So as long as you're not making a spectacle of yourself you should be permitted to do this. Perhaps the next step is legal action?
My school is filled with gang related activity so they don't even bother with people about small stuff like that.If someone wants to pray then they will pretty much never say anything about it.I actually saw a kid praying before he ate at the cafeteria last week, and nothing happened to him.I know though for a fact that teachers can not impose on or restrict people of different beliefs. That is one thing that Moegreche has already said. They can of course confinscate things such as bibles if you were to be reading it in class. Also one thing you shouldn't do is pray while they are teaching, because then you are not paying attention to them.I have learned the way public school works in and aout mainly becuase my mom and sister are both either going to or are already working for the school system in my area.If you have anymore questions on the matter, than contact me on my profile.
I, myself, go to a Catholic school, and we pray literally 5 times a day in school. I've been to a public school for five years and never heard of that before. I suggest you print some legal papers stating your freedoms of prayer, and if a teacher approaches you, take them out and shove them in her face. FIGHT THE POWER!
You know you cannot do that. At my school, you will get ISS for doing that.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure my school cracks down on those rules like there's no tomorrow. I'm actually afraid to just say "F that" in front of a teacher without getting a detention.
As far as praying goes, I think people should be allowed to do it on their own time, (Before meals and such) but that students shouldn't be forced to do it as part of a school policy. Unless they attend a religious school, that is.
I remember there was a huge uproar because last year, on 9/11, the girl reading the announcements said "Please have a moment of silence to pray for the souls lost several years ago," or something. I thought it was stupid; she could have worded the phrase better, but it's not worth getting mad over.
