I blame our warrior. He saw a hidden path and decided to take it, got caught in a trap and then the darned Bullete came out. It was horrible...The arrows shot by the ranger bounced off his hide...my mage was so flustered his spells did next to nothing...Darned Dungeon Master was evil.
Um...can we make this back on topic! Yes we can! By 'we' I mean 'you guys.'
On general, I agree that planes are safer. But if something goes wrong with a plane and goes down, a lot more people are going to die. When was the last time 700 people died in a car crash?
I started the topic to talk about small planes, the ones I am leaning to fly. The ones that seat 4 people. Usually 4 poeple is too much, so it is usually only 3. It was interesting to hear about commercial jetliners, but I am talking about small single or double engine planes.
Then it really depends on where you are. When I was in Alaska, the bush pilots there had a really tough time, but for your normal just traveling around, small planes seem much safer - as long as you know what you're doing.
It would only make sense that they are run by sharks.
But really, when I found this conversation I thought it was dealing mostly with larger airplanes. I think that for smaller planes there is probably a higher chance of them crashing, but then less people get hurt.
Most of small plane crashes are people being stupid. Scenario: Person brings 4 people and 4 sets of golf clubs on a single engine plane. He tries to take off, but his plane leaves the ground, tips on one side, and crashes, wing in the ground. Not fun, but the load factors were too high, and the weight distribution was horrible.
Yes. Another real one: Untowered airport for small planes Goes in to land. She reads the wind sock completely wrong and lands with the wind. She crashes into trees furhter up. Just stupidity.
