I saw yet another video of a group of protestors burning the American flag. The disgust me! Please tell me someone else out here agrees that it is wrong and should be illegal.

It was called the Union Jack when it was on a battle ship. Not when you're on dry land.

You are supposed to set the flag on fire. This is called retiring it. When it is old, you retire it.

You can't take away my hobby, keep burning flags legal. It's the freedom of speech, if you take away my personal right to burn flags, it's worse than actually burning the flag because you are ruining what America is supposed to stand for.

I understand why burning flags should be legal, but I don't understand why you would want to burn one. I've heard people say for protests, but I don't think you should really protest an entire country that allows you to protest. Maybe an idea, but you wouldn't need to burn a flag to put down that idea. You could burn a symbol of that idea, maybe.

I understand why it has to be legal, but that doesn't make it any better. Personally, I find it one of the most repugnant acts someone can commit, but allowing them to do that is one of the wonderful things that flaming Old Glory stands for.

Well burning the flag is a very disloyal thing. But it shouldn't be illegal because as stated in the Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." And that includes the burning of the flag as a peaceful way of protest.
I mean, you'd rather that then they threw bottles at the Capitol Building, wouldn't you?

It's not right burning flags, but this action should not be punished severe.

It can make a lot of money if you sell flags to people that enjoy burning them.

No, burning the flag is a constitutionally protected right in the U.S.A.
