I saw yet another video of a group of protestors burning the American flag. The disgust me! Please tell me someone else out here agrees that it is wrong and should be illegal.

I think it should not be prohibited, unless the flag is used for a magical ritual dedicated to incinerate all the US. Well of course, burning the flag isn't equal to burning all the US.

Also, if non-Americans can burn the flag, American shall be able to do it too.

Well, you can try to say that, but... The flag burner will be killed. We have to much pride in our contry to let a person burn our flag. You can never legalise it.

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion. It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is d***** by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Nice... what a load of BS

How bout this...

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us oppression using religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us silence of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has suppressed freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has quelled the protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has made sure the lawyer is protected to stop a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has enforced a rigged vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag over protecting people

Who serves beneath the flag, a paid killer who is lead to believe what he is doing is right!

And whose coffin is d***** by the flag, someone's son or daughter

Who allows the protester to burn the flag?
Certainly not a soldier.

Although it makes me angry that people would choose to burn a flag that does not stand for any party in particular, I think that it would be directly violating the rights that we have worked so hard to have. If you imprison someone for burning a flag, this is no longer the land of the free, this is a place where an oppressive government is allowed. We live in a country where it's ok to disagree with the government, if we were to imprison someone on the basis of burning a flag, then next we will imprison people for speaking ill of the president. It's just not right. Couple that with the fact that anyone who is imprisoned for flag burning will get a load of publicity and you're just setting yourself up for hundreds of protests and rallies!

Haha, oh you and your liberalism.

It is the soldier who gives you freedom, not in todays wars maybe, by giving their life. I don't care if you support the current American wars abroad or any war in general, the soldier is not to blame.

Oh and go ahead and burn the flag, but if you want a symbolic gesture try washing it.

Burning flags is as much a freedom of speech as a painting of vomiting corpses masturbating on a dissected baby lamb is an art. So many things today are made to invoke shock in the general public, since it's the easiest reaction to get. Don't give them the satisfaction, and it will become meaningless.

And related to the subject, there's currently a lot of controversy about a pastor in America who announced he's going to burn a copy of Kuran. If you're going to outlaw burning of flags, this must be outlawed too. While we're at it, let's make illegal to burn anything that symbolizes a large social group! That way we make sure not to make anyone angry. Sure thing! <can you feel the sarcasam? just checking>

Wow, that was actually pretty good. Someone should totally do that. Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't get noticed. Too peaceful, not enough controversial to keep up with the general public's short attention span.
