I saw yet another video of a group of protestors burning the American flag. The disgust me! Please tell me someone else out here agrees that it is wrong and should be illegal.
I believe burning the American flag (although causing pollution from the smoke) is just an expressive exclamation of someones views. If you were really disgusted with that act, as with many posts ive seen, just look at America. We are the single most hypocritical, idiotic country out there. The picture of justice is with a blindfold and a scale right? If we start peeking under the blindfold and than we are just thinking about the honor of our country not the actual right or wrong of the situation.

I think power changes people. Many polititians want good intentions, but create bogus laws just to trump and defeat the other party
I agree yet again it is WRONG that it should never be done. Whoever those ppl are should be exicuted.
God I hope you're just an unimaginative troll, I really do. You can't post a single thing to back up your claims and you disregard everything that goes against what you say.
People should be allowed to burn their flag. I mean, America boasts about it's freedom, yet they strip it all if your burn the flag. Goes against the freedom of speech so much. Just my opinion though. =w=
I see what you mean Future UMSC, but the fact is that it is a part of freedom of speech, its just like those people that stand on streetcorners with the God hates you and stuff, it would limit freedom of speech. I hate it too, but its the rules, for now...
There is a difference between freedom of speech and treason. If you really hate the USA so much then WHY are you HERE? With the Kansas lunatics, nothing we can do about that because they are twisting and distorting their beliefs to be offensive and disgusting.
If you consider burning your nation's flag treason then it should be illegal
There is a difference between freedom of speech and treason.
Why should either be illegal?
If you really hate the USA so much then WHY are you HERE?
Why would you care what someone else does with a flag?
If you consider burning your nation's flag treason then it should be illegal
No, because treason should not be illegal, as long as you didn't harm anyone.
Flag-burning is a victimless crime - it doesn't harm anyone. I don't see what's wrong with it. Please explain the reasoning behind why it should be illegal.
In fact, if it doesn't harm someone else, if it's a victimless crime, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I don't see one's objection to it.
Actions are not right or wrong just because someone thinks they are. Actions are right and wrong for specific reasons.
Why would you care what someone else does with a flag?
Flags symbolize a nation. I would be kind of offended if I see somebody burning the flag.
Why should either be illegal?
Freedom of Speech shouldn't be illegal.
You found a country called Einfachistan. After spending billions and much of your resources, you invent a nerve gas that you intend to use on your enemy nation. Me, your right hand man, decide to betray you and the country and tell the enemy nation about your new weapon, they find a vaccine before your attack. Your attack is useless and you spend all that for nothing and your country is now on a watch list on powerful countries that will keep a very close eye on you and I get to laugh and give away further information to other nations and I receive no punishment because Treason is not illegal. I make Billions for the Info, you go broke.
The above scenario is all I could muster up after 30 seconds of thought and It is a little more on the intense side but you get the point. There is no direct victim but if you count "Your nation" the victim, then it is a crime with a victim.
If you don't like your own country enough to burn the flag, why are you here? (again I say)

This is already a flawed example. It puts you in the "victim" country's position, which immediately is the side one sympathizes with. You could just as easily put it in the position of the other country who learned that I invented the nerve gas. Second, it seems as though your "treason" ended up bringing about justice in the example... Third, the "country" is not a person, and it cannot perceive emotion. How can it be hurt?
You hate cheese. Why are you at the Cheese store?
But this is absolutely irrelevant.
The "reality" you're in has nothing to do with what should or should not be illegal. So this argument is simply a fallacious statement; it has no bearing on what is right, or what should be legal.

Assume flag burning is legal. If you choose to do so (which IS a choice; not coerced), then you own the flag, which is YOUR property, which you are about to burn. You burn it on your own property or land, and you are responsible for the direct consequences of you burning the flag (people's houses burning down because of it). You have done no act of aggression, so by arresting this person it is YOU who are doing the aggressing, not the person. Flag burning being illegal is like coerced patriotism.
Burning the american flag is like giving the middle finger to the entire country. If you don't like America, GET THE F**K OUT!! sure, America has plenty of problems, but all things considered, this is a pretty good country.
