@Kaboni

Your reply shows your ignorance and prejudice. By making such educated and generalized remarks you have shown yourself to be ignorant. To answer your questions:

Then why is it that asians always score high on the SAT

Firstly, this is a generalization. Secondly, many asian cultures place a great emphasis on education and take their family pride very seriously. This produces children who have a tendency to be more dedicated than those of a family or culture who do not place such high demands on them.

and many doctors are Indian? (from India, not native americans)

This is mostly because the educational system in India, as opposed to the US, is much more strict, and produces higher quality students. These students then achieve their degrees and then come to the US to work because the salaries and benefits are much greater than in their home nation. However this is still a generalization.

Affirmative action, political correctness, and the pandering of our bureaucrats to the whims of every minority in our country has drastically lowered the standards of education, resulting in the ignorance you see displayed here. As a result of our "no child left behind" educational system, all children are held back to a much lower standard of 'assing' the primary educational system...

Hence the term dumbing down

What the **** is wrong with you Americans? Turkey a communist country? a desert? with Germany in world war II ? Are you guys seriously that retarded or is it just some of you ?

SoSolidClaws, never mind that Woody and Parsat were the last two entries to this thread way back in 12-08 but let me share some facts with you on the points you claim to be retarded for the sake of a clean and friendly debate. After all this is a flash games forum of mostly kids under 15!

Turkey a communist country?: No, it gained its independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1922 and signed the Treaty of Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland on 7/24/23.

Turkey has deserts?: No, but a central high plateau, surrounded by moutains that can get very hot during the day and cool down at night much like a desert

Turkey was allied with Germany in WWI and WWII?: read the first sentence, first paragraph Yes, Turkey was allied with Germany in WWI and was on friendly terms during WWII.

Now I'll add 21st century policies/politics:
Greece and Turkey, A LastingPeace?: Greek Reporter article on current issues/solutions.

Turkey of the 21st century: Two articles I quickly found, read and would like to share with anyone who has an interest in current affairs.
Foreign Polilcy article and Huffington Post article both talk about the US current administrations stand, Bushs stand on Israel and other middle eastern countries since the cold war to the recent "flotilla" incident and the very near future with Iran's continued uranium enrichment program.
One quote from the FP article I would like to share:

A Rand Corporation study published in February 2010 concludes the following:

"A strong security partnership with Turkey has been an important element of U.S. policy in the Mediterranean and the Middle East since the early 1950s. It is even more important today. Turkey stands at the nexus of four areas that have become increasingly critical to U.S. security since the end of the Cold War: the Balkans, the Middle East, the Caucasus/Central Asia, and the Persian Gulf region. In all four areas, Turkey's cooperation is vital for achieving U.S. policy goals."

Does anyone disagree? If so, why?

Obama was president during the flotila incident, not Bush.

Wajor it's nice how you're backing up your points with information, but Turkey was definitely NOT with Germany or even in friendly terms with them during the Second World War. And to those who do not know this, we are in the NATO.

Turkey was definitely NOT with Germany or even in friendly terms with them during the Second World War.

At the beginning of the first world war Turkey and Italy were at war during what is known as the First Balkan War. At this time Turkey was a part of the Ottoman Empire, which was in fact allied to the Germans.

During WWII Turkey stayed out of the fight for the most part, but in 1945 sided with the Allies.

we are in the NATO

This is a moot point. NATO was formed in 1949, and Turkey didn't officially join until 1952. Quite a while after WWII was over.

Being half Greek i am not too fond of Turkey. My Grandfather was forced out of there and his brother was killed by the Turks back in the 30s. Since then one of my cousins died in the last war against them. So no i am not their biggest fan. I hope to God they dont get into the EU.

Living in Cyprus for almost 4 years now, i found out a lot about turkey, and finished some college over here, so we went to the border between Cyprus and North Cyprus. Apparently until Cyprus gets the northern area back, and can reclaim it, Turkey are NOT allowed to enter the EU officially, and Turkey refuse to give it back and would much rather keep the land that they do not use.

It's just a dig at Cyprus when you drive from Pafos, through Lemesos and you get to Larnaka there is the hill of which has the Turkish flag designed in flowers. It's like them saying, "Look here Cyprus, this WAS yours, now it's ours!"

I think it's a disgrace. =/ So i don't like most Turkish and i'm not even Cypriot/Greek :O

Learn this, countries never give back land that they own. I have direct relations to the E.U. and I can assure you that our entry has nothing to do with Cyprus. If you lives in Turkey four years you would dislike Greeks and Cypriots, so your message is amazingly SUBJECTIVE. Opinion has no place in Politics.

You are very wrong here. Many times throughout history countries have been forced to give back territory which they have previously held. Your statement is indicative that you speak out of opinion, not knowledge.

I have direct relations to the E.U.

Oh really? I take it then that you are an elected official of a national level and assigned to foreign diplomacy? Methinks not.

I can assure you that our entry has nothing to do with Cyprus.

That's funny, because Cyprus is an E.U. member, and for any new member to be admitted to the E.U. ALL member nations must agree unanimously. Seems like Turkey will have some trouble there when it's time for Cyprus to vote...

Again, just like all your other posts, you are speaking from emotion and opinion, not fact. You make yourself seem ignorant. If you want people to learn about your country, which seems to be the point of this thread, then perhaps you yourself should know about it as well.

....hypocrite -_-'

There was recently an article in Time magazine on turkey, where they stated that recent polls have shown that 48% of Turks are in favor of joining the EU, compared to the 80% in 2004. Turkey's new out look on politics and democracy seems to be leading them towards the path to greatness. I have a feeling that the EU is making a mistake by not letting Turkey into their ranks.

That's not even funny, if I told you you'd feel like an idiot for mocking me about that.

Southern Cyprus holds no official right to claim the North as theirs, they just want old land back but it's a bit late now they should have fought for it earlier.

Firstly, I didn't mock you. Secondly, I would not feel like an idiot. Thirdly, I find it funny from looking at your youtube channel, that you posted the link for in your about, that there is a picture and you state that you are 14 years old. Kind of difficult to be an international diplomat when you aren't even out of high school.

Umm... I suppose the fact that Turkey invaded in 1974, bombing Cyprus and marching in their military to steal the territory and sending civilians to settle in the area and displace the rightful owners of the property isn't any right to want it back at all.

The fact of the matter surrounding Cyprus is that it was a coup which led to a full scale and unwarranted invasion of sovereign land in which your nation invaded and displaced over 180,000 Greeks. Your nation's control of the area is in direct violation of both the Geneva Convention and several UN resolutions. Your country flexed it's military muscle for no reason other than a raging race war with the Greeks, and then you want the EU to simply open their borders to you freely. You obviously know nothing of politics or diplomacy.
