I know that there is a topic about legalizing drugs, but I wanted to talk about Marijuana specifically.
Marijuana was banned in 1937 in the US and is now said to be a gate-way to more dangerous illegal drugs. However in this current state of economy I think we'd be better off with the legalization of marijuana. First, it would provide jobs for people. Second, more tax money to the government. Third, it would decrease sale to minors.

Sure, why not? Then we sit back and watch as the country turns to pot smokin', weed burning dope heads. Sounds like fun.
How about no, no, No, NO, NO, NONONONONONONO!!! and no. Worst idea I've ever heard.

Well, it could be worse; they could legalize heroine.
Worst idea I've ever heard.
People don't sell pot for fun, they do it because they're desperate.
OK Cholokid, let me re-iterate: Where I come from, people sell drugs because they either have no other means of gaining money or because drugs are the easiest/most profitable way of making money, usually a little bit of both. I personally consider that desperation.
They deal so they can afford bigger drugs. But isn't that how all businesses work, to some degree?

I don't think Donald Trump makes mergers so he can get higher.
That could be. But legalization of marijuana leads to a dark path.I in no way support legalizing marijuana, primarily because it 'leads to a dark path', as you so aptly put it.
They deal so they can afford bigger drugs. Not all are like this, but 99% percent do it for bigger drugs with more bang.
Well Moe, basically what you said is true. Given I'm quite tired I failed to comprehend some of it. However what I did comprehend here is my response:
Yes it will remove any illegal activity from happening. But what happens when the marijuana doesn't fulfill the need to reach the perfect high? If its legal, people will still use it for that purpose. And once they do, when their judgment is impaired by the lust for that unjust high, they will do things they would have before. They will go farther into the drug line. Which actually is opposite what you said, marijuana will remain a gateway drug. Having it illegal is actually less of a gateway drug than when it would become legal.
Drugs are bad. Period. End of story. Now then, who wants some ice cream? It's "Express". JK
