I know that there is a topic about legalizing drugs, but I wanted to talk about Marijuana specifically.
Marijuana was banned in 1937 in the US and is now said to be a gate-way to more dangerous illegal drugs. However in this current state of economy I think we'd be better off with the legalization of marijuana. First, it would provide jobs for people. Second, more tax money to the government. Third, it would decrease sale to minors.
No; I'm 17 and I tend to stay away from it for the sake of not getting busted. However, the benefits of legalizing/decriminalizing marijuana highly outweigh the negative aspects.
2- annnnd So your ok with having a doctor perform a heart surgry on you right after he lit up 2 joints on his lunch break?
No, that would be made illegal, and any practicing doctor would be appalled by the idea.
um no. First off, the legalization of it would be causing people to use it without any fear of getting caught meaning doing it when ever you wanted. Example: A school bus driver uses marijuana, gets high right before shift, drives, kills everybody. Or a doctor using marijuana, would you want him to perform surgery on you? maybe he just smoked marijuana 10 minutes ago. See where im going? We dont need things such as pot in our society
Tax is the last thing we need to be increased. With our struggling economy the average American man giving even more money to the government so they can give it to those who don't even bother to work? Yeah, that's called socialism, look it up.
Well I'm pretty sure he meant taxing the marijuana, not increasing all taxes.
And I think I heard somewhere that in California there's a legal marijuana plantation. They have to pay a crap load of taxes, but it's been legalized. They have to pay to the state and federal government in the hundred thousands, but with how much they're making, that's nothing to them.
I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard it from someone I'm pretty sure I can trust.

It would be illegal, just as getting drunk before doing either of the above things you listed would be illegal. Please, use common sense and read previous posts next time.
1- Do you smoke weed? If so how old are you? 2- annnnd So your ok with having a doctor perform a heart surgry on you right after he lit up 2 joints on his lunch break?
1)Yes, I'm 13. Don't lecture me on this, your opinion won't change my mind.
2) Use common sense, if a doctor isn't allowed to get drunk before performing surgery why would he be able to get high? It wouldn't make any sense.
I'm sure all that i'm about to say has been mentioned, but I'm rather sick and tired of the illegal drugs in the u.s. soo...here's my two cents.
All drugs, including marijuana should be legalized, NOW. I really don't understand how as a country we can't see the benefits when we have such a blatant and easy to see example right in front of us. We made alcohol illegal, and guess what that helped? NOTHING. When alcohol was made legal again, everything, EVERYTHING got better. The same exact thing will happen with any drug, not just alcohol. Once its legalized its use by minors will go down, why? Because its not as cool to smoke weed if its legal. Once its legalized drug dealers will be out of jobs but, the amount of drug related deaths will be cut DRASTICALLY. Crime rates will fall, minor use will fall, the government can tax the hell out of it, and looky there EVERYONE profits from its legalization. I see absolutely no reason to legalize all drugs...even if there harmful...its the person using it's fault.
I found something somewhat interesting relating to this topic... I haven't checked the sources, but if it's reliable it's pretty darn worth knowing: http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/print.asp?ID=3774

So... Fourth, it could bring down pollution. Make paper out of the plant fibers. And stuff. *shoos you all off to go read that article-thingy*
Well, that's just a puny qualitative observation. Besides, there will always be people who break laws. That's why there is crime, and quite frankly, there always will be crime as long as there are laws. ------------ @dragonball: things were different back then. Ben Franklin was a dope machine. George Washington had syphilis, and he wasn't born with it.
