Since I have joined Armorgams . . .I see a lot of Atheists and their threads about why people believe in God etc . . . I wanted to start a thread about the bible and christianity.
The purpose of this thread is to debate a different book of the bible each week. We will discuss lessons, morals, and different stories.
We will have friendly debates. Please . . . if you are atheist or of other beliefs . . . you may discuss in this thread, just PLEASE no fighting, flaming, spamming, trolling . . . etc
This week we will begin from the beginning . . . .Genesis
Ah, I love them cartoons featuring Noah! Anyway, is there anything to discuss about it? His area got flooded, and he collected a lot of animals before that, and that is that?
I'll it off: I think the story of the flood is based on a real life catastrophe that effect most of the world, because in almost every ancient culture you'll find a story relating to a massive flood.
My guess is that glaciers began to melt add cause flooding.
Alt wants to do the Ark, because its so farfetched it can't be true, I know how you think alt o.0
well actually its been proven that there was an extremely large flood around the time that Moses would of lived, it didnt cover the whole world, but it did cover most of, if not all of the inhabited area back then.
it didnt cover the whole world, but it did cover most of, if not all of the inhabited area back then.
I know somebody will say something regarding this quote like "But the Bible says the entire world was flooded, and it couldn't have been." If the Bible was written by witnesses to these events, why would they know, or even feel the need to say, that "God flooded most of the inhabited world, but the flood was incapable of going over every single land mass of the time"? Just saying that early because I know someone will talk about it later.
This board is sooo interesting lol. It reminds me of that show that also breaks down the Bible. Anyway I believe on that show they said not everything was copied word for word because of translation problems so some things may be different.
