Lately I've been seeing a lot of people who have 10,000+ AP, and all they've done is rate 1,000 games and comment a million times. While I'm over here just playing games I like, and having fun in the forums. So even though I'm not worried about AP too much, it just kind of annoys me that that's all they care about on the site.
My question to you guys is what do you think the best way to gain AP is? Would you respect someone if they were #1 on the site but had never made a single forum post? Or how about if all they had were forum posts?
Iwould respect somone that has fair amounts of everything in every category except merits, for many its hard to get those, including myself. FireTail is no.1 I respect him for I recently started talking to him but people like FST6 and Skater kid pwns, who were friendly at the begaing but then start to get mad at everyone for thier own problems and cause something on the site is going on, they don't care about. I'm just saying many of the best ABers arn't in the top 100, but soon will be for my friends and I are getting close to that. But really points don't matter, AG should just be a site to chat and playgames. Good Q Green.
I usually just comment and rate a lot of games, and at the same time, I explore the forums. That's it. I get about 20+ AP from rating games every few days, and about 100+ AP from writing in the forums every few days.
I personally think that earning AP through merits is the most respectable way to gain AP. If you have many merits, that already implies that you have worked hard to do something.
Forum posts does not necessarily warrant respect. Some people post more in intelligent discussion, while others hang out in other places.
i just recently got 10,000 ap but i didn't spam to get it sure i migt ave spammed wen i was new to te site but not anymore. ii got most of my points from talking to friends and rating games after playing tem and commenting on games etc. but i don't really care about points im just ere to make some friends and ave a good time. so if someone gets to number one and e as no forum posts/merits ten e migt as well be a spammer.
I've always wanted more points for forum posts or maybe have a way for people to vote your posts up for they get more points. Also if Firetail didn't have any posts I don't think anyone would care he existed.
