Think about it, what is religion? The belief in something that cannot be proven, that has many, many things that as of yet we have found impossible, and in many people, it is unshakeable. Now I am not saying that all religious people are going to go kill someone or end up in an assylum, but think, in every religion, the basis is something that cannot be know, but is only faith. Faith in something that could turn out to be wrong, faith in something that you have absolutely no way of knowing. Also, think how many of these religions started, some person got a message from a "god" that told them what to do. Don't go crazy on me, I just want people to think about it.

Uh, that's like saying Obama wasn't chosen by Americans.

No it isn't.

These are all either misquotes or not fully described. These are usually punishments, not just slavery.

I have a question. If you are an atheist, how the heck was the earth created.

Being stoned to death is a punishment?

I don't know how the Earth was created. Just because we don't know about Earth's creation doesn't mean God did it. People used to believe that Gods literally lifted the sun into the air during the day. People replaced what they didn't know with religion. Today, we know that the Earth revolves around the sun.

So if science fails to explain something, it isn't proof that God exists.

PS: The flying spaghetti monster probably created Earth.

Are you serious? Why would you comment on our idea if you don't even have one. The dumbest answer is the one you don't have!

Lol, no it's a pastime :P

Oh it's not? I'll be sure not to go on the attack again, I'm sorry, I didn't know I scared you.

I kinda wish the Obama thing wasn't true..

I didn't mean in general. I mean't it held no importance to what I just asked. It wasn't a proper answer, you just changed the subject. Good job trying to nit pick what I say.

Atheists don't take the bible too seriously. The socially unacceptable parts of the bible are ignored by Christians while the acceptable stuff is flaunted upon (including homosexuality being a sin).

Nurvana, you keep saying "well atheists do bad things."

I know atheists do bad things! Just because I'm saying that the church does a lot of bad things doesn't mean that atheists don't. Your arguments are invalid and plain ridiculous.

No, the dumbest answer is 'God did it'.
You don't need to have an idea in order to realize how crazy someone else's is.

Big Bang.

Tell us to prove it and we will say the same thing. (Bible not liable source of proof).

I completely agree with everything you just said....
Except the flying spaghetti monster part.

First of all, does it really matter who or what created the Earth? I mean, you must be happy to be alive. If otherwise, you have serious problems and you should see a therapist or phsycologist.

Second of all, So what if people believe in god. I'm am not pursuading that, but as long as they aren't bothering you, leave it alone

It's probably a good idea to explain yourself instead of ask for it first, but here goes.

Look around you, NoName. You are on a computer, there are huge cities and aircrafts and humans outside. And you seriously thinking that Earth was caused by a random explosion? Scientists even say the chances of that are extremely miniscule, if any.

I'm just arguing that homosexuality isn't a sin and that the bible has a lot of BS in it. I'm not telling people that God does not exist. In fact, despite how much pain religion has caused, I know that religion does do a lot of good. Even though many people have dumb ideas because of religion, and even more people waste their time praying for peace rather than acting out for peace (actually getting out of the house and being kind), religion has encouraged many people to be the best people possible.

I think religion is a good thing, but I also believe that people should challenge their views.

I never once said I was atheist.

Big Bang.

Who created the Big Bang? Or did over 100 elements just waltz on in and say, "I feel like existing today."

With the abridged version of the theory. After our sun formed dust particles began to take shape in the form of rings. the particles began to collide forming larger and larger clumps until the rings became proto-planets.

You believe a man created earth out of nothing with super powers.

The big bang theory is an idea. I'm not saying the big bang theory is right, but it is an idea.

Just because the big bang theory can't be proven to be true and just because scientists don't know how Earth was created does NOT mean that God must have done it. It means we don't know. That's all it means.

You can't use scientist's lack of evidence as proof that there is a God. If you believe God created Earth or that God created the big bang, good for you! But don't use God to argue science... ever.

God is science.

The big bang theory is an idea. I'm not saying the big bang theory is right, but it is an idea.

But what about

Big Bang.

Tell us to prove it and we will say the same thing. (Bible not liable source of proof).

It's called science, not science fiction.

Ok, you said the big bang can't just ranomdly occur.

But did you ever think about how likely it is for a man to exist when no one else does, and have powers to creat these things?

Now then. Atheist do bad things. And Christians do just as bad things, IF NOT WORSE! Atheists realize what they do is wrong, christians just hide behind god, and say that there forgivven and it's ok.

If you tell us to prove the Big Bang theory is true, then we tell you to prove that God created the Earth. There is no evidence of either one happening.

It's called science, not science fiction.

God is science fiction.

How does this light bulb work? I can't explain it.... GOD MUST BE POWERING IT! God must be creating the light out of nothing himself!
