I don't see any problem with refusing to say the pledge, however I think the kid could have at least stood like everyone else. It's not a matter of voicing your opinion, it's a matter of showing respect and courtesy. I don't pray, but if I go a friend's house for dinner and he wants to say grace before we eat I'm not going to talk all through his prayer, or start eating before he's done his thing.

In my opinion, the government shouldn't even be involved in marriage. I couldn't care less about people being gay.
