More people need to do what this little boy did. Stand for what they believe. Congress isn't the same as it was when it was established. The original rights are being broken every day.
He is either smart, or he soaks up information from his parents like a sponge. Either way, he has the right not to stand up. Even though not standing up won't change anything, standing up has the same effect. He's 10, what is he supposed to do to protest?
I disagree with the not changing anything part. We are talking (or communicating) over a vast distance. I learn from the people I talk to and its important. I dont only post here, but on youtube, facebook, and on random sites I come across. I make a difference, no matter how small. You will never see my face, most wont bother to heed my words, but for those that do??? Well I just want people to think, and that little boy made me think.
So what about a native american? Would they have the right NOT to stand for the pledge, after all, it was their country long before my ancestors set foot on the soil.
I really like the sound of this kid. Just because he didn't stand for the pledge doesn't necessarily mean he feels like disrespecting his country. He only said that he doesn't like it's current state. Sure, his resolve might be a little irrelevant, but stop and think about it for a moment, how else is he going to get his opinion out there? He's a 10-year old, the way I see it, his method was somewhat effective (I hear about him all the time) for his low stand point in the political world.
Give him a break guys, he stood up (or sat down, LOL) for what he believed and voiced his opinion against everyone who was yelling at him and saying that what he was doing was wrong. You have to at least give him credit for that. *cough*TSL3 and Green*cough*
I think its disrespesctful to the country.I will always stand for the pledge.(unless hes from The Soviet Union that was bad)
It's not disrespecting the country. It's saying he doesn't agree with what is happening in the country. I support the little boy. I haven't been standing for the pledge since for like three years. Although I have slightly different reasons...
Actually, I think it's kind of wrong to force children to say the pledge. They should give them a choice. Back when we were in kindergarden, we got in trouble if we didn't want to say the pledge! This kid was just doing what he believes in. Which he has all the right to!
