Global warming is real right? I mean the green house effect is real but there is so much controversy about if its man made or not, and even if it is man made will it kill us all. I think that it is man made and it will kill us all, but i want your opinion.

actually ice was melting since the end of the ice age, it is now going to happen faster and more drastically

Syun Ichi Akasofu, a professor of physics and the founding director of the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska.

"it has been receding. But again, this receding began around 1850. Not just the last 50 years. This is happening all the time as a natural phenomenon. So, it's very difficult to simply associate all the changes in the ice to carbon dioxide."

this is brilliant all we need to do is figure out how to put 6.5 billion people on submarines, do you have any idea how much ice there is that if it melts it will be disastrous, maybe not in a year but over a couple centuries where talking about massive death.

you dont need to put everyone on the submarine just a couple people like 100.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THIS!!!

Think of the sub as a group of pods, some for farming, some for living, some fore ports ECT, you could ad more at any time by using more subs to build on, just need a system of easly addin on every few years.

I don't know what you guys are talking about submarines for but anyway I am starting to have my doubts about global warming since whenever its warmer you'd get more evaporation of water, and then more rain to cool things off. But I can't find that there's more rain or precipitation going on nowadays than before. So I don't know what's going on with global warming anymore, except that it has something do do with submarines!

Much of the actual warming is due to the Sun(Mars is warming as well, which can't be due to our greenhouse gas emissions), but we are undoubtedly the cause of the hole in the ozone layer - there's no natural cause for that.

WRONG---
A hole is over Antarctica that was originally over a large city 10 years earlier. The ozone moves where it is over the earth and now the ozone hole is over Antarctica, The sun has a large effect in global warming for without it there would not be heat but it won't make a hole in the ozone other wise it would have the past million years, we aren't gain temp. because the sun is closer it is bec. the solar heat is trapped longer with more incoming heat, made from natural carbon and possibly "human" carbon also.

due to the sun, but the sun isn't warming fast enough to cause something like this... if it is, we have a BIG problem with the sun.

also, tom, that first part is not true. at all.

Rational people know warming definitely has some human cause. Destroying and burning the major source of O2/O3 and burning anti O3 agents and releasing other anti O3 agents (coal and gas and aerosol) does not equal the O-zone just changing by itself because it's in a cycle. Scientists supposedly know that we're going to see obvious changes within the beginning of this decade.

It's not known how much humans actually cause it, or not released correctly. It's easy to say this could be exponential. It's not known if we can even reverse it, and I believe with society and population right now we can't. we need a much smaller population that's already built on things that have nothing to do with O2 creators.

yes but not as much as millions of factories burning off tons of who-knows-what; billions of cars burning fuel every day; people cutting down and burning down majorly important trees every day, and then burning off a bunch of what was cut down; etcetera.

and yes cow farts make up less than 2% of greenhouse effects, so OH NO LETS STOP NOW IT'S INEVITABLE BECAUSE OF THE COWS!!!

Global Warming is just a bunch of wineing to me.The day I cared about Global Warming is th the day the world floods over. But intill that happens I couldn't care less.

Not entirely, of course, but it plays a big part. Read the paper I cited. We can determine that it's playing a noticeable part due to the fact that Mars is seeing a lot of problems too - polar ice caps melting, stuff like that. Our own greenhouse gas emissions certainly is a factor, yes, but to say it's like 98% of the problem is a little excessive.

oh of course. before i was just patronizing the people who dismiss global warming because farts count up. also, the fact that there are enough cows in this world for their farts to attribute a full number percentage is entirely our fault anyways-- we're constantly mass breeding cows for food.

also, nice article.

a bit of it is over my head, but it's to-the-point and i like that.
great find.

The energy industry has quite a lobby, and a good amount of money
to hire some scientists to prove, what they want to be proven.
