I know we used to have it, and I know it was spammed, but could we have it again, but with the min. rank of knight. Then there would be little-no spam, and we can have a official CHAT!

I am going to ask you to look through the Newcomer's section and Forum Games. Spam has nothing to do with AP. Sure without AP they would not spam for points, but they would most likely still spam.
Which leads me to... I think I am doing modding wrong. I have yet to get a hate account created and an angry thread about my stupidity and presumed sexual preferences like all the other mods.
I bet it will have 100 posts before a mod gets to lock it.
Actually, it is a fine line between genius and insanity. Which usually means that true geniuses have one or more mental illnesses.
I know... Einstein couldn't drive a car, Edison was arrogant and mean, Nico Tesla was obsessed with pigeons... The list goes on and on.
On other news, I got a job today, and apparently being a mod is a good thing to tell about, because it shows commitment and a sense of order.
I wonder if that helps in the restaurant... I guess you can show that on your resume, probably does look good... Unless they found out it was your site...

chats often breaks into chat speak and stupid comments because the topic changes so incredibly fast and the (assumed) discussion moves faster than the users.
I bet book lovers would have a heart attack in a chat (There's no middle and end. And the beginning does not correspond to the rest).
Usually it will end up being the same few people talking to the same few people,
And most likely one day they run out of ideas and start talking about the things they talked about yesterday, which they'd talked about last week, which they'd suggested a month ago... ZZzzzzzzzz....

Look on Kong: You don't get points for commenting on games, and they spam it just as badly here with 'I commented first!' and 'good game'. And other sites are no different.

Guess it all depends on which side of the line you're on, right? =D I heard that story before, where all geniuses have a little twitch in their brain that cause them to be a sort of Jeckyll & Hyde. LOL Guess I can't argument against it, since this is a possibility for those chats to turn into, a list of stupid text messages saying nothing more than a back and forth of 'you stupid', 'no you', 'no you', no you', 'LOL no you', 'LOL', 'how's the weather where you are'... :/ At least in the forums people DO think about what they write before they post it! Some people wonder if one or two of the mods have a lifestyle like that (They don't look like it: Many mods are invisible for long periods, doing nothing and suddenly popping up. What do you think they do in that time?)

What about a mute button? Like what they have on Kongregate. It's what my friend uses whenever he's on one of their chats and someone is flooding the chat. It's very effective because spammers and people get what they want. One gets to spam the others get to chat with little to no interference.

this is a very effective option. i used to play on Kong and Kong has MANY more users than AG and they all love to spammmm

Using that option would be like picking up a hyperactive mouse and placing it in a box where it can keep on going untill it's tyred... in the meantime the other (normal) mice can go about their business without that particular mouse bothering them!

That would be nice I have to say. On Kong you can't post the same thing twice in a row. And I think bot-caught spammers (Which are most likely are newbie spammers) should be banned longer, like 5 minutes or half an hour. And the system records every time you get banned, making a sort of record of your activity. Suspicious users should also be able to be tracked.
i would LOVE if AG had a chat i really think it would help the community get to know each other more friends better site all together but the spam would be a issue but yeah a lot of people have great ideas on how to deal with the spam so just read that just voicing my opinion
