I know we used to have it, and I know it was spammed, but could we have it again, but with the min. rank of knight. Then there would be little-no spam, and we can have a official CHAT!

I'm an honest noob.. Lol. Anywho, there are chat servers you can use that don't accept flooding, more or less, the ones that don't accept html.. Oh, and it would be a marvelous idea, expand your gaming competitors, and meet new people, it's a great way to socialize, and, there are those of us who just love a challenge.

If AG were to make a chat, they'd probably make it themselves instead of partnering with a chat service. Gives them more control...

it's a great way to socialize

Sometimes, but most of the time they're just short incomplete 'jargon' which make almost no sense to a passer by.

expand your gaming competitors,

You mean achievements in the chat? And Leaderbards as well? That's different: It would sort of copy Kong, which we don't want to do.

i would LOVE if AG had a chat

Many people would love to have a chat.

get to know each other more

I find comments do that as well, as you can write lengthy stuff without rushing. And you can move a conversation over the length of a few days(Chat is right now, right now.).

I wish we could have a chat makes the site more enjoyable.

I know that many people want a chat... but I also know that it isn't going to happen. We tried a chat out in the past, and members abused it, we didn't have a good way to monitor it, and so it was removed. Plus, it doesn't tend to actually harbor any sort of intelligent conversation. Godjule gave a pretty good example a few posts back.

As far as chats for certain games? That won't work either. I have seen this done on other sites, and it isn't great either. A lot of spam, a lot of flaming. If you need help on a particular game, you can always just head over to the Flash Games forum and ask the question in a thread about the game.

But don't expect another chat on this site. AG tried it, didn't work out, and there is no interest on the administrative end to give it another shot.

We sent little Chat to go spend the rest of his days on your granddaddy's farm. There he can really run and play, stretch his legs. Chat will be much happier there.

Let those words echo in your mind...

My granddad doesn't have a farm.
I know that many people want a chat...

You can see that: Quite a few users on this thread really, really, really want on. And sadly, their begging is useless. I actually like AG because it has no chat: Much easier to spend time writing decent forum posts and errorless comments. When admins go on other sites, do they use chat? I wonder...

(This is the part when chat users cry)

Haha no. Especially on other Flash gaming sites. I know some admins on other Flash sites, and as soon as they go into a chat on their site they get absolutely bombarded by people. Most people I know avoid it because of that, because it makes it very hard to be a passive member of the discussion.

Haha

I made Carlie laugh! What a wonderful way to end my day...

I see loads of comments on your page (Sometimes my comment disappears from the front page in just a few moments). I can imagine chat would be chaos, with every newbie wanting to talk to an 'admin' and other users who require assistance.

You mean chatting is more 'real fast, blow your top off, write jazzy messages' sort of thing? Making it very difficult to talk normal? I believe you, remember when I tried chatting...

Admins and mods have messaging sites like AIM, but just to contact each other...but why does member 1 say sorry when he himself didn't do anything? See, I poked a giant hole in your logic! :P

No it's not, you misspelled out! XD ah,...

I really can't think of anything that would make the mods completely invisible... even if they are invisible chat wise, people will know that one is watching when someone is forcibly banned from the chat..

Person 1: N00bz!

*person 1 is banned from chat*

Person 2: Wait, that means a mod is in the chat!

Person 3: Yeah! hey look here, gimme a merit plz!

Cenere: go away....

Cenere: I don't think you deserve a merit when you ask for it. It also goes against the outline of not asking, which in most cases will mean your chances of a merit will decrease because you are up in the face of the mod or admin. If you actually deserve a merit, the mods will find it, because such comments stand out against the wall of spam there is on most, if not all games, and that way you will get your merit sooner or later, if you deserve it. You should also know that the only time you can actually ask a mod for a merit is if you have won one in a contest. These are given out more frequently because of the contest being somewhat active, and we don't have to got through a number of spam comments to find it (though one could argue that half the art section is spam anyway, but hush).
Just so you know.

Person 3: awws okay...

Fixed.
