Anyways I was hoping, that we should make all those 0AP account disappear i mean seriously, I'm on 17 AP AND I'M ALREADY IN TOP 60,000. I know there will be complaints but how about we give them a email, if they don't post in a month they go? I think it would be fair although I wanted just 1 week, but, I know people will think that is to small. Please tell me if there are any flaws in my plan.
Ahhh yes, the 'ghost account clean-up' as some people put it. Lemme answer it:
No
The reason is these ghost accounts are still accounts, and therefore have the same rights as used ones. And we cannot guarantee that one of these users might come back and be really pissed off that his account got deleted for the purpose that it had 0 AP (With so many accounts, it's bound to happen).
This idea is also a bit like banning ghost accounts, as the outcome is essentially the same.
if they don't post in a month they go?
I have friends who use Facebook so much, they check their email once a month or less. I bet some people do that too.
Plus, AG admins would also have to build an automated code for that (Or do it by hand, which could take a gajillion years), which I bet they don't want to do.
Let me be honest. It is not going to happen. "Why" you might ask. Because I am temporarily pessimistic and I have seen a lot of emergencies that still needs fixing, that should be fixed before anything otherwise happens.
The potential issue that I see with this, is the fact that not all active members are posting comments and rating games. Some people have accounts, but don't use the social features, and so don't have points. If we deleted all 0AP accounts, we might be getting rid of active members.

You can take my way or the 'Bad Cenere end of the world prophesy' one.

*rusty wheels of argument about this kicking in*
the issue i see with that is that, it's like getting a free cupcake, looking at it, and eventually forgetting about it.
why have something when you're not going to useeee eitttT?????

It's also like getting a cupcake, and saying 'I don't want icing'. The icing is the social features, and the cupcake the account. You don't have to have icing on your cupcake. Though I agree with you Graham (Why make an account when you don't really use it?), I have to agree with the logic of Carlie.
Now, multiply the cupcakes by 300,000. you need a couple warehouses, which costs money and takes space. the cupcakes without icing are just 'sample' cupcakes and are used for a short period of time while a space is shut away for them if they ever feel like coming back to get the real thing.
AG has a lag issue, overwhelming space set by for accounts, only potential profit is generated, regulars are set back by overwhelming space set by for accounts.
in the likely incident that a person has forgotten the password, they don't quit the site because their name wasn't reserved. they create another.

If you can disprove the possibility that there are accounts that use AG but don't gain points when using it, my argument will shift more towards your side.
A lot of people want to have something, simply for... 'having it'!
*raises eyebrow*
I have the feeling some people have the same reaction to this when they read it, but it's true! It's all part of the greed mankind suffers... *pounding drum sounding in the background* Ok, it's a bit over the top how I presented that, but still... the 'wanting to have something' is a teenieweenie example of 'greed' and therefor I mentioned it!
Some users may have become members of Armor Games, simply to 'have an account' because they... 'wanted to have it'! The fact that they don't participate actively in the community through rating/commenting/posting/reviewing/uploading, doesn't mean they don't play the games on Armor Games!
It's something you can easily clean up without bumping the broom against some toes here and there... Hotmail did it years ago and got a huge amount of complaints by members that were furious about there email adress being deleted because they didn't use it enough...
Hazardous subject if you ask me... leave it the way it is seems the best solution in this!
Maybe one of the admins could introduce a program that memorizes the activity of all users? That way, the mods know which are accounts are ghost accounts and therefore, can delete them without much hassle.

you can't disprove a possibility. so i can't.
if it's any consolation, the earliest ghosts on were because of referral abuse.

i'm suggesting like 6-12 months of inactivityyyyyyyyyyyyyy then deletion.

True, but we don't know how big ghost accounts are. I find that they must be less than 1 KB, as they haven't posted anything, their About is empty and they have no armatar. And as AG does not seem to think ghosts are a waste of space, this must be it.

Backing Carlie up there, and she's an admin, so she should know.
