I am not in any way trash talking atheists, but what i don't see is their sole purpose. Do they get some sort of delight i trying to lure people away from their beliefs? You tell me.
There are some religious groups that slow human progression. Atheists would rather solve the problem at the root.
So True. Just saying, Steven Hawking as an example, has contributed greatly to science, which would then be used in technology for progressing forward, he doesn't put his faith into anything else except his only abilities. Not directed at Christianity. I Don't have a religion, although I tend to like Bhuddism more since it has more "Meditation and Wisdom" Value and gives you an open-mind, then believing into something else, and play a role in human progression through numerous ways. Although still wastes some time. Ever seen B. Monks light themselves on fire, and without a care in the world, burn to death?
Freakenstien, this is not in any way against you, but what I don't get is that you guys are aloud to question us, while we can't even budge to wonder about yall.

Lol, I didn't say it was, it was to all of us XD
Well, I'm going to answer that with a quote someone already said:
There are some religious groups that slow human progression. Atheists would rather solve the problem at the root.
There are religious groups that slow change and progression of humans, and religion has slowed us long ago. While scientists have tried to piece together reasons why this and how this happens, religion has ridiculed and even executed them for "blasphemy against our god". Easiest way to put it, they have halted advancement throughout the legacy of the human race.
And for religion vs. religion, there have been many religious wars in the past all because "this land is home to both of us" and "Their beliefs are against ours", and so religion has killed in the name of their masters. The most recent travesty was in 2001 and still continues. Not necessarily Christianity itself, but religion as a whole is the problem.

You have the freedom to question us; no one has said any different. If they did, they aren't being fair.
Everyone needs to stop talking about atheists as a collective. What defines atheism is the primacy of the individual as opposed to the collectivism of religious structures. Atheism does not amount to anything near an aim or a goal. It is simply a logical standpoint.
Suppose there were people who didn't believe in Love. Would they go around on AG saying, "Love doesn't exist??" How come atheists spend so much of time on AG going on and on about something they don't even believe in? It's just their waste of life.
Well I understand what your talking about but it is wrong to believe that ALL atheists hate or try to deter religious behavior or religious people from acting religiously. I'm atheist but my whole father's side of the family is Christian and actively go to church. My mother's side is Buddhist. And personally I don't mind them being religious. I think it is kind of a waste of time but I keep those kinds of things to myself. The atheists your talking about are just arrogant people in general. I would compare them to religious people who always try to convert people or tell them their way of thinking is wrong. It goes both ways.
Weaste of time, you lose less then 3 hours per week if you are religious (going to Curtch + praying) and this life is only about 60 years long, this is not real life, when you die you are living forever, is 3 hours per week worth of going to heaven where you are going to live forever, so...you rather go to hell than weast 3 hours of your earth life per week, earth life is not important, I would do anything in this ussles life to go to heaven, bye, Im going to visit you somethimes in hell when you die

The belief that when you die, you will live forever in heaven or hell if you don't believe it, is the single primary reason why people believe in Christianity, and why those that do fear it.
I find this whole thread incredulous. I'm so glad I come from a country where religion simply isn't an issue. It makes all conversations much smoother somehow. With Americans, it's as if it's a contest to see who can mention Jesus first. How do you guys get anything done?
