I am not in any way trash talking atheists, but what i don't see is their sole purpose. Do they get some sort of delight i trying to lure people away from their beliefs? You tell me.

"There are some religious groups that slow human progression. Atheists would rather solve the problem at the root."

False. In general, religions don't interfere with science nowadays, as long as what the scientists are saying is fact on not just a bunch of hypothesis of what might be. And sorry to say but atheists are only 10% of the world. I don't think they'll be convincing people that their religions are all lies. And I'm not trying to stereotype, but I happen to know several atheists in the real world, and a lot of the time they like to spend their time arguing with me about how much of an idiot and how much of a close-minded person I am for believing in God. However, maybe I just have bad luck and the only atheists that I''ve met happen to be jerks.

We get things done? When did that start happening and why didn't anyone tell me?

Well, you are the most prosperous nation on the earth in GDP terms, so you must be doing something right.

And Moe, if you don't care about other religions, that doesn't mean you are an atheist. An atheist is a whole other meaning.

I never said thats why I was an atheist. I'm an atheist because I don't believe in God or any other religious concepts.

its not stereo typing if every athiest i have met in my life has tried to trash talk my religeon

Its still stereotyping because you haven't met every atheist.

False. In general, religions don't interfere with science nowadays

Its not as easy to spot but it still happens. When they teach children that religion is right and science is wrong they are hampering both the scientific community and society in general.

Just because you don't believe in it, doesn't mean you are. If you are against it, then you are.

No an atheist is just someone who doesn't believe in any deity. It has nothing to do with being against religion or not.

theist; belief in a deity(s)
a-; without or not
atheist; without belief in a deity(s)

I would have a world based on educated and logical thought. Most people devouted to a belief system have no way to justify their arguements. My purpose I find, it to force these deluded souls into thinking for a change. Many who believe in religion follow blindly slowly becoming fanatics. I would have religion removed given the chance. Removed so that the believers could make a true decision, one based in reality, not a fairy tale.

I wouldn't say fanatical, Wolf. The churches in my town are pretty stable and calm. Following it blind? Maybe. I haven't been there in a while to talk to the folks about it. Whether they follow the religion blindly or not, they still have different interpretations of the concept. If they were truly blindly following their religion like a sheep, they would agree 100% to everything, aka being fundamentalists.

A man who is blind may yet still see. Most follow it for no other reason than because of fear. They do not have to be completely blind, just blind enough.

That's true. I can see only one benefit and detriment to follow a religion. If you do, you get rewarded; if not, you get punished. Except eternally XD
So out of fear of being eternally punished, religious folk, mostly Christians, have to follow the codes and teachings of their religion so they won't. It makes sense that way.

And yet these codes are created in ways that allow severe injustices in the world. If these people are wrong then it becomes a cruel injustice. Scratch that, creating suffering is a terrible injustice no matter the "reward"

Most things create suffering for other people, regardless of whether or not it's intentional. One man's gain is another man's loss.

And yet most things are not justified with the statement, "My religion says this so I can do it."
