It is my opinion that they should be able to do anything that straight people can do. The fact that we are restricting them from getting married reminds me to much of the restrictions we placed upon women and blacks which most people would agree were terrible. I would also like to point out that I am not gay, I just believe in the freedom of the people. Feel free to post the opposing side of this as always.
eh, personally I take it as a compliment. If you really think about it it's quite flattering to be found attractive by both sexes.
It's hard for me to take it as a compliment where I'm at because it's somewhat of a hick town filled with all kinds of homophobes. There will be people that actually have a fear as in like say fear of the number 13. Then there are the ones that say they have a fear but they are just rude. Then there are the people that are radicals that are going with the Texas GOP on having homosexuality being a felony but like don't keep their opinions to them selves.
Marriage itself isn't 'normal'. We may be a species that mates for life (I've seen no conclusive proof of that) but we didn't really have marriage until a few thousand years ago.
As for homosexuality being 'normal'. Have you looked at the animal kingdom? There are lots of animals that display examples of homosexuality. So I'd conclude it's pretty usual.
I support the side that has factual, demonstrable evidence to support its claim, not the one mired in myths and magic.
Thing is, not everyone would agree with you on that. Religion has been around for a long time, and generally its statements have ruled over science until recently.
So, knowing what logic is, and what reasoning is, which part of religious dogma holds up to consideration, scrutiny, examination, and the application of logic?

Science cannot explain this statement properly (Maybe extinction of species and blah blah blah). But religion and common logic tell you yes, killing a person is wrong and should not be done. It is part of the law, and simply because people feel it is wrong, not because it has been properly backed up by science.

I count it as instinct and pleasure. the dogs aren't doing it to reproduce, just for pleasure and (seemingly) boredom.
Sarcasm and such aside, doing what could be considered a 'homosexual act' doesn't necessarily mean you're gay.
True: If a guy hugs an old friend that doesn't mean he's gay. If a guy kisses another guy out of love, it doesn't really mean they're gay either. There's a difference between homosexual behavior and homosexuality. Otherwise all dogs in the world would be homosexual, and that would mean no dogs would be homosexuals.
Now, asexual reproduction is fascinating in and of itself, but the fact that these lizards MUST engage in sexual mating rituals in order to reproduce is even more so. Seems God must be a man, he made an all female species which has to have lesbian intercourse to procreate.
Now that could be debated wether that counts as homosexuality or not, because our idea of homosexuality originates from gay people, who shouldn't be able to have off spring. For the lizards though, the must/can reproduce with the same sex.
Also, you're suggesting a lot of plants are homosexuals, because they have complete reproduction systems.

If we want to talk about "normal" which means not deviating from the norm. Now, the norm when it comes to sexuality is actually asexuality. Single-cell organisms out-number us (which many of those reproduce asexually), not to mention many sea creatures reproduce asexually as well.

Let's see. In the case of this thread I think Asherlee was referring to Asexual single-cell/simple organisms - not Human beings. However, Asexual humans can get married if they wish - if they're Asexual and not Aromantic I don't see why they wouldn't wanna.
Hermaphrodites can also get married - they usually choose a gender (based on the sexual organs they have/their chromosomes).

This is a noteworthy point. Homosexuality in non-human animals is difficult to measure because most cannot articulate their desires and feelings, they can only act on them. While it is easy to see that a dog is engaging in homosexual behavior, it is more difficult to show that the dog is attracted to its own sex.
I personally believe that it can be assumed that some dogs are homosexual, not just engaging in homosexual behavior, because other mammals show homosexuality in addition to homosexual behavior.

No one can define normal, but monst people just think it is what most people do that is 'normal'. Hypothetically, if everyone as homosexual, then it would be normal.. According to you apparently. Now yes this would lead to the extincion of humans, but it would be normal, and people would do it because it was twhat everyone else was doing.
Homosexuals are Humans, and they have every right to get married. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Ever heard of them? Let them do what they want! THey are no different from us, they just prefer something different. It is like being in a sea of everone wearing all blue, and you wore green. Does that mean you aren't allowed? That mean it is illegal?
You should be ashamed of yourself. Really. You should ALWAYS put yourself in their shoes. What if you were a guy and it wasn't legal to get married to a girl? What then. And you were in love with this girl. And someone says you shouldn't because it isn't NORMAL?
