It is my opinion that they should be able to do anything that straight people can do. The fact that we are restricting them from getting married reminds me to much of the restrictions we placed upon women and blacks which most people would agree were terrible. I would also like to point out that I am not gay, I just believe in the freedom of the people. Feel free to post the opposing side of this as always.
From my limited knowledge of the bible it says that homosexuals are that way as punishment from god. If he already cased his judgment then we have no right to make it worse on them.
Ooops, sorry. I was having a Catholic flashback...
That line just made my day
My opinion is rather simple and to the point.
They're people, just because they don't like those of a different sex is no reason to discriminate against them. Let 'em get married, and be as miserable as the rest of us.
That's probably because none of the religious fanatics or trolls have made an appearance yet.
Actually we've had quite a few make an appearance. Surprisingly, however, even the majority of the theists who have posted see no problem with homosexual marriage, even though it is theistic opposition which has dictated that it is not recognized in most states.
I would guess also that many of the theists who have considered posting their opposition have seen that they would be flamed for their intolerance and discrimination at the behest of the invisible man in the sky.
I think they should be allowed to get married. I know many people say they can still be considered domestic partners and that it should be enough, but I think it's the title they are after. I know that when someone tells me I can't do something I get pretty angry. Why should heterosexuals be allowed to do something homosexuals can? I feel that many people who say that marriage should be between a man and a woman get their ideology from religion(whether they practice it or not they were still socialized that way early on) It's high time people stop imposing their own ideology on everyone else, especially if it isn't causing the opposition any pain or problems.
Is there any chance of an amendment being made to the constitution legalizing gay marriage?
Actually a Supreme court judge ruled that a federal ban on same sex marriage is unconstitutional. The issue is at the state level, and unfortunately the states have the power to make such arbitrary laws regardless of the federal stance on the issue. This is why we have several states that allow and recognize same sex marriage.
My knowledge on the constitution isn't great, so I have to ask.
Doesn't the constitution grant everybody equality under the law? In that sense by saying the gay marriage is illegal aren't the states going against the constitution?

There is equal "justice" under the law, but positive there is no equal "rights".
Also:

If it's not in the constitution, the states have the power to make and enforce laws however they choose, so long as it's not interfering with it.
Do you think you are clever Moe? Think it's funny when you twist others words for you enjoyment? WELL F*CK OFF YOU COCKY SHIT FACE! You shall never be saved with that attitude, ignorant being.
