This topic is based upon your personal opinion on whether abortion is wrong or right. I personally believe that it is wrong, and have many reasons for it. You may challenge me if you wish, but please make sense!

I believe abortion is ok. You should probably put some of the reasons now.

I don't see how a mom can do that to her child.

Did you read my post above, showing, if aborting an unborn fetus is "wrong" then there is mass murder on an unbelievable scale going on every day. In fact, I commited mass murder this morning by your terms.

Hehehe, a little bit too much information

Just wondering if you're maybe straw-manning the pro-lifers a bit here. Even if they advance the claim that a fetus is still the potential for life, don't you think there's something intrinsically different between that and unfertilized eggs or "spilled semen"?

Just one disanalogy here should make it clear:

A fetus, given that it is in the proper environment, is sufficient for life to emerge. You can't say the same about a sperm or an egg. The fetus is clearly farther down the causal/necessity chain.

Yeah really! One life versus, idk, 40 million?? We should start an anti masturbating campaign!

A fetus, or earlier embryo, is really just a biological step up from being a cluster of cells. We kill millions of cells every day, yet don't even shed a thought for it. If we were to say something like a macro organism, THEN we'd be talking different.

All the men that oppose this should get pregant that would be a hit on the irony train............
I'm a guy and I think it is kinda wrong but I do not oppose or protest it, it should be the womens choice exspecialy under rape conditions or single parenthood

As a firm believer in population control I believe that abortion is a reasonable option. I think it is unfortunate that the circumstances in which abortions are had are often horrid, and there is something about partial birth abortion that just wigs me but, all in all, it is the individuals decision.

I brought you into this world and I can take you out.

Hey! They are life too ya know. Dont knock my lil guys... oops, I just did. Ah well so much for life being precious.

A fetus, given that it is in the proper environment, is sufficient for life to emerge.

Seriously tho, you could still say that with the right situation, either sperm or egg has a chance at being a life.

The fetus is clearly farther down the causal/necessity chain.

Yep that is true tho. It just depends how far our "morals" say it is acceptable to go down the chain.

Meatnalls1337, It depends on how fertel her eggs are and how far your sperm can swim. Sometimes people get pregent from just one interaction were for others it may take months of trying.

I think it really depends on how far along the egg is. Personally I think that the act is wrong and there are so many alternatives. I do believe that the option should be open to women who are rapped. However, than you could have women coming and and saying that they were rapped. I think that adoption would be a much more logical and humane response to an unexpected pregnancy.

And have you seen how crowded the adoption centres are? Abortion is a much kinder option.

Hmm..I would find that raising a child while looking for future parents would be a good solution, but only if you are able to take care of it. Adoption Centers are clearly not the right solution as it could take a long time before the child is adopted. I've seen those that would put up ads in the county/regional paper for those that would be looking for a child. I forgot the terms of the adoption, but the circumstances were the two parents were expecting a child, and they were ready to raise it, but after the birth, unexpected things happened that compromised the health of the baby (financially, they were in trouble). So, they put an add in the paper explaining what happened, and the baby was adopted a few weeks later.
