No culture is new to the subject...You are born an atheist. As far as I know, every non-human on earth is an atheist. How can a culture be new to the default?

Considering atheism is the default position I don't really see the point. I also don't see the point in going into remote places like some sort of missionary just to say there is no god. I don't think it should be pushed on people, it's a conclusion a person can come to on there own. What we can do is work on improving critical thinking skills and our ability to reason so we have the best tools to make conclusions.
Now should it be pushed in the sense that we should remove the stigmas and fallacies related to it, sure. It can also be used as a reactionary response to religion being pushed on us, something like what Dawkins or Hitchens does.
Well yeah, you're born agnostic atheist--how can you know if something or someone exists if you don't know it in general, much less the fact that you don't know anything yet? You're too young to worry about religion--you just want that bottle!
*cough*
Atheism should just be introduced to those who are open-minded, questionable, and those that are confused as to the deity that they are believing in and the dogmas that said deity teaches. There is so sense showing close-minded individuals Atheism, especially if they are content with their religion; it is like vice-versa where they force their beliefs on us. It just doesn't work, does it?
Nevertheless, we should never slight in showing the correct pieces of evidence that contradicts the many concepts of the religion, in hopes that those that see some of the truths emerging would learn the Atheist side of life.
This last paragraph is just a rant, but it really does seem like people think Atheists are a depressing group of people, since they have nothing to believe in, and that we "believe" in nothing when we die. We ain't pessimistic and we ain't depressing; we are just as spirited and just as holy as churchgoers.
i don't know why people refer to atheism as a group. ATHEISM: disbelief in god and religious beliefs.
I never referred to atheists as a group. However, if you're an atheist, you fall into that category a.k.a that group.
If theism is a group, then so is atheism. If theism is not a group, then neither is atheism. I don't care which one you choose to follow, but you can't say theism is a group and atheism isn't.
Regardless, you CAN spread atheism, even if it is the default belief. You even said it yourself.
Atheism is a fast growing movement in the world which i think is fantastic! what do you think? should it be pushed?
I am treating atheism the same way you are.
Regardless, we are splitting hairs. It does not matter if atheism is a group or not. We will get nowhere by arguing semantics.
The core of this conversation is to talk about spreading the disbelief in God to those who believe in him or a different God. I find this to be an over rated approach.
Really, if you plan on trying to spread the concepts of Atheism, you're only defeating the purpose, OP, as people are going to assume that Atheism is a group, defined as "the belief of not believing in a deity".
