No matter the reason -- couldn't you say it's always an escape?

Is it selfish? Or, depending on the motive, selfless?

By committing suicide one proves only one point
he or she is not brave enough to face the hardships of life

Maybe someone could bail you out.

It depends what you're running from.

I am honestly sorry for that.

Why go to jail for attempting to end one's life? Why detain them in the realm of the living? If they want to leave, we should grant them that freedom.

I think the jailing rule is just to discourage people, because if you fail at dying, you will be jailed in therapy.

I'm sure the suicidal love that rule. Luckily, the suicidal usually succeed. Their need to leave is more powerful than their need to stay.

Remember to use a gun. No chance for second thoughts.

Mini-topic: What is the appeal for death by falling? I mean, usually you have enough time to think about what you did wrong with your life and feel the anticipation of splatting on the ground.

an ex-suicider (failed to kill self) said: "When you are falling down from the bridge, you suddenly understand that all your problems are solvable - except one: you are already falling from the bridge."

Once there was a woman who mourned her husband who suicided out of despair, she was in turmoil and travelled far and wide. She eventually reached Ars where there was Jean Marie Vianney, and asked for his audience. He told her that her husband was saved, as he had enough time to regret his sins while falling.

For the topic - yes, suicide is an attempt to escape, but the destination is unknown.

EnterOrion, the gun can misfire Actually, everything can break when you try to kill yourself, just because these are things and can break.
