I'm taking a Politics class in school and the topic of gay adoption/marriage came up and I was wondering what your opinions of it? (I looked for a pre-existing thread for it and couldn't find it)
well i mean, i dont think people should have gay marriges, but it should be legel so people have freedom
So you feel it appropriate that your opinion translates to law? Out of curiosity do you believe that divorces should be legal? Or that people who aren't From the Jewish tradition (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) should be legally allowed to be married?
im only answering the first question cuz i dont want to lead this forum on to a different subject. And yes i do because this in my views, hence the title of this forum post Gay Marriage/Adoption-Your Views
im just saying i new a gay couple and i disagree with thier choices.
First of all, homosexuality isn't a choice. More importantly, WHY do you disagree?
So you feel it appropriate that your opinion translates to law?
As opposed to what, thinking opinions you don't have translating into laws? I think my opinions should translate into law. Especially my opinions about laws.

The subject is very similar and i know the mods wont care, answer the questions please.

So you do feel that your opinions should be law correct?
You have to understand you're new and I need to know what yo believe before it's possible to debate you.

In opinion baseball is a waste of time and a forces me to miss shows I want to watch; however, I understand this is only my opinion and therefore shouldn't translate into law because it's people's right to enjoy whichever sport they please.
because it does not corruspond into what i believe in.
And that's your right and I wont even think about taking it away from you.
Y'know - if you lived your life purely on what the Bible commands then you'd probably be long dead. For one, you'd be stoned to death for masturbating, disrespecting elders or committing one of any number of other sins that people conveniently skip over.
As for us being critical of your views - as samy said 'It's how we learn mate'.
I do not like divorce because 1) my parents got one 2) it doesnt follow my moral beliefs 3) it causes relational destruction 4) hurts the kids (if threre are any) 5) hurts the couple economicly

1. I understand that's not a nice experience but neither is a loveless marriage. 2. Your moral beliefs don't equal the moral beliefs of the rest of us. 3. Really? I'd argue that 'relational destruction' was more a cause than an effect. 4. Wouldn't it hurt people more if they stayed in a loveless and/or abusive marriage? 5. That's only because the government seem to favour the nuclear family structure and married couples - cohabitation is becoming increasingly the norm - things will chance soon enough.
